Awesome. It was the reason I switched to Archlinux (from Ubuntu, I think?) to get Awesome 3 when my former distro had only version 2.

I switched between Gnome/KDE, before being alienated by both KDE 4 and Gnome 3, then switched to Openbox, which I used for some years, then Scrotwm, which became Spectrwm, then used i3 for some years after that before getting a MBP in 2016. Since then I rarely use Linux, but tried Mate/Xfce, again KDE and Gnome, before settling for mwm and then stumpwm before going back to KDE and ultimately Gnome for ease of maintainace. With my last switch to Gnome I switched distros as well, after many years of Debian to Fedora. I like dnf, but it is oh so slow ... of course I tried window maker, fvwm, twm, icewm and awesome and even ratpoison and cinnamon for a short period. Maybe more, but I forgot ...

none, i do startx /bin/app

i plan to emulate OPs picture but with proper GUI and using Linux internal process communications like pipe or ports what ever the user wants, the one of that picture has a tool that shows you a tree of the application elements very interesting thing, the bad thing is that their gui is not responsive lacks modern expected things from a GUI

Window Maker. After using tiling wms exclusively for almost two years, I came to the conclusion that they are a meme.

netbook: gnome (slim login)
desktop: plasma (sddm)

i3-gaps, riced out and customized

SDDM

Personally, I run i3-gaps because I like the customizability/looks and I've gotten effecient with it's workflow. Of course, use what's best for you!

how do you cope with not having you x tools? How's your performance/battery life fairing? How do you blur without compton?

i3wm/gaps on gnome-flashback

fell for the i3 meme for a while
now on xfce and will probalby never switch

Openbox + xfce4-panel gigachad reporting in

Linux dress up wm hopping zoomer or millennial brainlet

xfce

Sway for my work laptop.

XFCE for my gamer setup.

can you turn on anti aliasing

Cinnamon for desktop
i3 or dwm for laptop

emacs

>window manager with window decorations
hell no, use dwm

Why not LXQt at this point?

English please.

old plain i3, gaps are a meme and a waste of space

I switch between lxqt, xfce and i3.

Openbox. I like it. There's probably better shit but its good enough

if you don't use KDE, then you don't value your time and productivity

White man's xmonad.

dwm

used i3wm for about a year, found I liked dwm better with the dynamic layouts and easier modification. If I could compile i3 from source that would be great, but I think the code is just that much more complex than dwm I wouldn't be able to make modifications as easily.

source on wallpaper pls?

you can remove those by removing a single line of config

>gaming
into to the trash you go

LMAO even Linus switched back to the foot DE since KDE is garbage.

Ctrl+F "MATE"
>two results, neither of which is someone using it
C'mon Jow Forums!

MATE Desktop Environment, the greatest, simply the best. On Debian GNU/Linux.
