I cant read this. Next time just post the images and a summary. I’m an american in london. Your link was unhelpful and cost me precious data and battery

3800x hitting 4.5 just over 4.5

Attached: 3800x.png (864x1036, 274K)

3900x hitting slightly over 4.6 not bad getting there

Attached: 3900x.png (890x996, 369K)

>inb4 AMD just tampered with the bios to misreport clocks as higher than real

>chips will now halve their lifetime

Clocks only hit it for 1 micro second so you have it on record lel where are my sustained boost ?

The whole point of this "update" is to dodge the lawsuits. Now it technically can reach the advertised boosts - case closed.

DELID DIS

>cpu will last me 20 years instead of 40
AH FUCK BROS

Intel is still better for gaming

Attached: 1566808548694.jpg (495x495, 35K)

Yeah I think I'm going to stick with Intel since it's the best at uh
Keeping me warm

Lol, that 0.1%.
Incel stutter.

yeah I wont buy it until the BIOS is matured.

Good news. I had to underclock and undervolt my 3800x for stability to even have my system run without Bluescreens for 2 hours. I hope this update fixes everything. Intel guys have been making fun of me and nows my time to make a stand

>he bought the 3800X
Even us AMDbros are laughing at you.

Yea these are beta bios I'd probably wait until they're officially released which might be tomorrow to a couple of weeks from now. Still good to see they're solving the issues.

>not lurking with a desktop pc
absolutely haram

Go back Yankee

>boosts
How about set overclocks? You can achieve all core boosts on Intel at least 4.8 Ghz, if you overclock with a decent cooler you can push towards 5.

>ShillTV
That guy is still alive?

>forza, a game optimized heavily for AMD hardware

Thank you beta testers. I will buy it in few more months when its on sale and most of the bugs ironed out.

these cpus aren't really made to overclock in the first place, problem is they aren't really hitting their advertised boost clocks and amd was quiet on the situation so people started to say they were lying but as time is going on they're gradually getting there with constant bios updates ect.

NOPE STILL 1 MHZ OFF
SUE AMD NOW!
imagine thinking that there is problem with CPU's hitting clocks and that it is not your ass choosing a meme motherboard manufacturer and model
keek

Attached: file.png (1920x1080, 1.01M)

I also hear Navi drivers suck ass. AMD can't get a single launch right.

> problem is they aren't really hitting their advertised boost clocks and amd was quiet on the situation so people started to say they were lying but as time is going on they're gradually getting there with constant bios updates ect.
My CPU arrived 3 days after launch, boost clock worked as advertised the day i installed it on w10ltsc no issues

to be fair they aren't nearly as big as nvidia or intel but they still make both products so it's sorta understandable it takes them slightly longer to iron out issues with new products compared to the giants.

NOOOOOOO! DELID DIS!!!

>1 core boost
kek who cares. A stock 9700k boosts to 4.6 on all cores.

SEE? You need better software and kernels, not hardware.

Can we please go back to the days of 512MB RAM, 16MB GPUs and 450Mhz Processors?

Coding kernel and software is FREE
Building hardware takes RESOURCES.

Kernel & Sofw

This is cool, really, but I dont dig these voltages. I'll stick with my 2600 until ddr5.

What are the temps like?

wtf puigdemont?

Voltage literally means nothing if you current is low, dumbass.

It goes to normal voltages under load.

thats more like it. but you didnt show the cases before, ie i dont get to see the actual improvement

i use both. obviously i have a zen 2 if im interested.

trust me id rather be back in bel air rather than this crime infested rock you have here

That's a good thing, why do I need a chip lasting 40 years?
20 is plenty
Honestly have you EVER seen a CPU die? I've used hundreds, possibly thousands of systems and everything dies far before CPUs do.

lmaooooo

Nothing failing but there are a lot of reports of sandy era cpus no longer being stable on their highest over clocks. Could be cpu or the power supply and psu components wearing out though.

>but you didnt show the cases before
der8auer did a survey showing the amount of people not getting advertised speeds and it was pretty high. Quite a few people getting 4.2/4.3 on their 3700x instead of 4.4, all these updates should eventually correct this across most/all cpus in their lineup, but time will tell.

Meh not so bad, everywhere I work has replaced their cpus several times over since sandy years.
I gave my mom my old 3570k several years ago at 4.5GHz and it still runs fine for her. That's the oldest CPU I see every few months, all the other work places are using ryzen 1-2 or at least haswell

Dear Sir. please do the needful and say
How to install in GT-i9505?

Fuck those voltages. I'll stick with my manual overclock and same voltages thank you.

I can think of a few concerns where the stock boost algorithms will aim for clocks that aren't stable in ~5 years kind of thing, then again the algorithms can probably down clock themselves to stop systems from crashing.
The kind of person who has a system overclocked for 5 years probably aren't the same people complaining today, not that it isn't just a third world shill squad running core2duo laptops living in a squalor.

I guess so, even now the PBO seems to reach for high voltages. Only way to see is wait a few years.
I have a 3700X and 4 computers in my office are 3600 or 3600X, I doubt those will be replaced before they die so it'll be interesting to see what the voltages look like or if the clocks die out as time goes on

Keeping all those cores cool is the biggest challenge in manual overclocking. I'm upgrading to a custom loop to see if that will give me anymore OC headroom. Currently I can hit 4.25 ghz with 1.25 volts across all 12 cores and temps at 77-78 under load, creeping up eventually to 80 if I dont give them a break. With these high core chips thermals are a major pain in the ass.

sirs ples

seems like every amd bios is in perpetual beta

not a chance. overclocking on AMD is painfull and you actually get worst results. all core 4.5 is impossible. maybe all core 4.2 is duable

I ran a 2500k at 4.4 and by the time I was ready for Zen 1 it could only run 4.2 stable under y-cruncher

>custom loop
Won't help. Biggest problem with Zen 2 is the placement of the chiplets. The U12A actually beats the D15 because of how the heatpipes are laid. We need custom Zen2 water blocks

>NEW performance doesn't matter when AMD wins!

what s up with those voltage , is it normal for zen 2 to hit 1.5 volts ???

i have my 2600k always kept it at 4.5 ghz since 2011 , and last year i started having problems, now i can hold 4.2 ghz with 1.4 volts . don t know how long it will last

Stable in what test though?

Attached: 1543781687158.jpg (389x597, 37K)

Remove the NEW - they've always been like this.
Anything AMD wins doesn't matter - Incels have been saying this since the 20th century. Ask me how I know.

Thatd be the VRM on the mobo showing wear, doubtful it's the chip

Attached: vs.jpg (1920x1080, 528K)

manual oc on amd platform is a no go

pbo works perfectly fine

holy mother of housefire, no wonder they can't OC for shit

Kek, the cope is real

Attached: Ryzen-3900X-3700X-review-Rainbow-Six-Siege.png (1800x1200, 85K)

A single chiplet pulling 70w has a thermal density of 1.05w/mm2, which the "65w" SKUs can easily do.
The i9 9900kelvin pulling 200w has a thermal density of 1.15w/mm2. This is regarded as a difficult to cool house fire.

Thermal density with the chiplets is a significant issue, which is concerning, because the designs are like half of TSMC's peak density for the process. 5nm EUV can bring an 80% increase in xtor density but it'll never materialize for AMD unless power scales to outpace it and reduce the thermal density.
Though Zen3 is a different arch family from Zen1 and Zen2. I think Zen2 will be remembered as a sloppy transition before another really impressive long lived arch.

if you want keep your battery get out retard what are you doing

:(

Big yikes. Why would anyone buy the 3800x??

Stay mad.

It's only for short periods and on low current workloads, so yes.

I've read people are getting great results with this ABBA bios, but it's a bit dodgy for me to get my bios from that random panda site, when will MSI have it up on their support section for the different motherboards do you reckon?

>Ryzen 5 vs i7 and i9
How about you compare ryzen 9 3950x with an i5-9400 then?
Seriously, are you being paid or you're just stupid?

Who is the qt?

Source on your claim?

It still loses against a 9400F, a $140 processor. And the 3900X is on that chart too, still losing to that 9400F...

Interesting but I can't go off of this since it's user submitted data and not something in a control group. If so I guess I fucked up in getting my D15
