What's the equivalent on the market today? Or alternatively what are the best consumer headphones with a budget of about £150?

these are still the shit

I'm also interested, since I have the exact same headphones, and they kinda hurt the top of my head and my ears if I wear them for long periods. I know with at least some headphones you can get new... padding? or whatever its called. not sure how much that'd help though.

use the general, faggot

>these are still shit
ftfy

first time on this board, whats the general? a requests thread? what even counts for a regular post if not discussion of technology?

THIS FUCKING GUY

i stopped using mine, because the top flakes onto my head, desk, chair, and floor.
been too lazy to take some fabric up there.

Off you go back to Le Leddit

No matter how cheap they are, if the headphones you find come with an indestructible Kevlar Cable, they're automatically better than Beats.

I paid 10£ for mine 3 years ago in a drug store, they still work as well as they did on day one, and the sound quality is fantastic.

Only real downside is they smell like earwax and sweat if I don't clean them properly.

yeah i have that too, i dont know if it's just cause theyre old or something but my ears definitely hurt if i use them for many hours.
i seem to remember back when I bought the m50s there was another headset that was the sort-of rival "good headphones", i think maybe pic related? my friend had them and i remember them being hella comfy

i mean, beats are well known to be hella overpriced (and ironically bad for bass, which is a big part of hip hop). also i fucking hate those headphones that sit on top of your ear instead of around them. cant wear them for longer than like half an hour

ive been on other boards for plenty of time, just not Jow Forums. sorry im not as autistic as you guys

Any good DACs?

Also does anyone know how Shure compare to Beyerdynamic?

these are the absolute worst build quality ever for such a high price. I dare you to separate the sides and stretch them out. they gonna snap like a single tiny match is holding everything in place. broke mine in one side by barely applying any force. then I tried the other just for fun very lightly and it broke instantly too. never have I ever been so disappointed in a pair of headphones...

Stop lifting, Jow Forums. I bet you find pulling and pushing RAM really use now. I told you stop lifting RAM, bro. I told you so.

DT770 is much more comfortable than M50 and sounds better too, yeah.

why would you intentionally try to ruin something you bought? how about you just use it and not break it.

ive literally had them for like 5 and a half years and this is the first problem. and its a tiny piece of plastic that holds the ear in place. ive already fixed it with some paper towel and tape.

cheaper too it seems like

Fuck off, these threads are for the people that dont like the general.

Why toss a perfectly good pair of headphones away? It sounds like you still love them.

>this board
you mean "this site".
some topics are so common that they get their own thread so discussion is contained and doesn't dominate the board.
GOTO Headphone General;

>ive been on other boards for plenty of time,
probably porn boards

wasn't gonna toss em, but theres a plastic bit broken that means the right ear hangs loose, so this wouldnt fix the main problem. its a nice idea though.
for now i jury-rigged it and its workable, but i might as well get a new pair anyway, theyre old as hell

nope, i just dont frequent boards with generals. i vaguely know they exist but im not gonna know what counts as common enough for a general on a given board.

nah, /v/ and /a/. Jow Forums is a pretty shitty place to find porn on a regular basis, i do actually use reddit for that.

this is the only garbage board with generals, /sci/ too

DT880 or go silent.

I actually saw an user 3d-print the piece I'm pretty sure you are talking about. Good as new. I know the 3-d print file is out there for the pair of headphones.
Not sure if it is sold on ebay or something though

holy fuck zoomers

GIVE ME YOUR TOP 10 DACs.

I used to own one of Shure's cheaper IEM's about a decade ago. Absolutely no bass response, but borderline indestructible since I once slammed them in a car door on accident no worse for wear. Get one with two drivers if you can.

HD 569

its literally a tiny little tab inside the hinge, i dont think its an easy fix. ive wedged something in for now and it kinda works

HyperX Alpha. Successor to HyperX Cloud. Spent hours reviewing and very happy user (6mths in).

hope you're not talking about the se215s
