linux is objectively faster on nearly every benchmark largely due to windows being so held back by legacy kernel and filesystem restrictions
windows also has more overhead and "bloat" which slows down things further
windows 11 or whatever microsoft is going to call the new version of windows that ditches all of the legacy restrictions will likely be quite comparable to linux speeds, if not faster

Windows 10 bottlenecks your hard disk. It runs more or less smoothly with a SSD.
GNU/Linux does not do that in normal conditions.

Now if you are talking about wine then it depends due to the implementation of things like opengl/sdl being better on linux.
Touhou 8 for example drops frames on windows when it doesnt on linux.
Also wine can be set up so that specific wine instances that with those old windows hacks can be created per application.

Btw i would also like to add that by your own logic servers are the slowest pieces of crap.
They take a minute or so to even finish posting and head to the bootloader.
Windows 10 for servers takes way longer to boot due to optimisations in the kernel plus startup checks.
Linux is by default a made for embedded and servers so of course it will also do those checks.
You can turn the majority of them off and get a faster boot like like solus without even needing to rely on cheap tricks like hibernation on windows 10

At this rate, it'll probably be a Linux distro anyway. Non-cloud-based PC computing is becoming less and less important to MS, so they aren't likely to expend a lot of extra resources on it. They already closed their PC OS division last year.
