wm4 has about a 90% chance of coming back. Right now the feeling is that 0.30 may get released first and then wm4 will be handed back owner access. Source: IRC but I don't have logs with me right now so just trust me dude.
Jaxon Myers

That's old. People discussed it again earlier today and the consensus was that everyone would like him to take over again. The only reason he wasn't given owner access back the first time was because he mentioned the nuking the org thing which made people wary about what his intentions were (i.e. just deleting everything and then fucking off). But now everyone basically just says fuck it, give it back and see what happens.

mpv.net sucks

As long as backup are made go for it
Lincoln Russell
Apparently there's no good way to back up github issues though.

Levi Martinez
Then why does it keep getting updated?
Aiden Moore
Lol this shit is so gay. Why would I terminal something as simple as a video player? I'm good. I'll just drag and drop files into mpc-hc.
Asher Howard
>drag and drop No thanks. I'll just use mpv and double click the file.
Jonathan Butler
mpv supports drag and drop though
David Long
You can drag and drop files into mpv
Julian Bell
If wm4 comes back does that mean color autists are /btfo/?
Austin Russell
>it just works.
it follows shinchiro's builds, which are also updated.
You can drag & drop, open from context menu or through everything in mpv.net
>libplacebo This is the only thing that's up in the air really. wm4 doesn't like it but vulkan has more bugs without it.
Joshua Perez
I'm against this. >wwwmmm44444 sounds lame compared to >JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB
Jayden Robinson
You only want him to revert libplacebo because of the lack of timers. You don't care about the technical side.
Colton Edwards
Is wm4 some kind of an enraged dog we have to control with an electric collar? I hope he is not as fosstarded as before.

Out of the loop, dumb user trying to understand what's going on here. Seeing lots of missed mpv-player commits being added to it, it looks like mpv-project will become the new repo for mpv going forward. So, no more libplacebo and maybe no dvd/etc playback? What will be the consequences for idiot users? I.e.: back to low vulkan performance and old color management problems? Any significant changes to user configuration? I'm assuming they will announce if users should change repo and settings when/if that becomes actual. Best to wait and see?
Cooper Fisher

This. This thread is only for shitposting and not for important questions regarding the development of the project.

It has been confirmed that some mpv devs lurk here from time to time.

I had a dream that wm4 came back and merged my pull requests.
Eli Martin
>not dreaming he will nuke the project instead cringe
William Carter
Just switched over from MPC-HC to mpv.net. Is there anyway I can change the default screenshot naming to name them after the the title of the video+timecode? I take a lot of screenshots for work and having it name everything mpv-shot# is inconvenient.
Logan Gutierrez
ctrl+f the manual, it's not hard.
Austin Ramirez
On mpv.net press c and go to screen/screenshot template. There is a link that will send you directly to the manual part related to that.

Youtube-dl not working with latest build of mpv and youtube-dl. Anyone else having this issue? mpv crashes when it attempts to load a YouTube URL. No error when I run youtube-dl with cmd.
Andrew Walker
Youtube killed youtube-dl a few hours ago.
Nicholas Clark
when you watch YouTube videos through mpv, does it increase the viewer count of the video?
No! The viewing system of YT is bunch of JS/WASM and mpv doesn't care.
Kayden Clark
nice

what was the problem?
Zachary Myers
Mpv is not a f*cking web browser!
Brandon Gray
>f*cking the fuck? say what you want to say dude.
I know its not but they could have a system that counts views without the browser for example when they receive a GET request from some IP or something
Ayden Rogers
>what was the problem? Apparently Youtube made some code changes that broke youtube-dl and majority of other similar apps and online websites that rip/convert videos from youtube.
Cameron Anderson
i see. how does Youtube profit from youtube-dl?
Blake Ortiz
It doesn't. Why would it?
Brayden Allen
i don't know. tipically companies don't allow external tools not developed by them to scrap their data and shit
i guess youtube is fine with it
Nolan Reed
Oh, they definitely don't like it. Why else would they update something on their end every few weeks to break downloaders like youtube-dl? The problem is that youtube-dl is always quick to catch up. Although they would probably be more aggressive if youtube-dl were more popular among normalfags.
Austin Rivera
youtube-dl is a massive, complicated python script just for downloading a fucking video. It's not easy.
Jack Mitchell
they already released version 2019.09.12 but it doesn't update? $ youtube-dl.exe --version 2019.09.01
$ youtube-dl.exe -U youtube-dl is up-to-date (2019.09.01)

I fixed the issue by downgrading glslang

How do I make it so that mpv goes for the first subtitle track by default? That's the only thing I haven't been able to figure out about this so far.
Colton Lewis
Doesn't it already do that by default? What is the default?
I downloaded Steins Gate but it has double audio, I googled and figured out how to make it default to japanese audio and english subtitles, but the thing is this video has two different subtitles, one for the eng audio (translating stuff on screen only) and one for jap audio, I can't figure out how to make it default to the english sub that's used for Japanese dub.

Can a poorly encoded source youtube video cause seemingly random frame drops (output) and mistimed/delayed frames? Or it's something that can only caused by mpv/hardware/drivers? I noticed I get random frame drops (output) and mistimed/delayed frames on random 2k60fps vp9 youtube videos while other 2k60fps vp9 and even higher res vp9 play without drops.

If you're streaming it could be the connection too. Even if you have good internet it's not uncommon.
