>Not sure what private trackers are all about? The mission of /ptg/ is to promote the lowest possible standards of tracker service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
Remember the following: >Staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before. >This is a thread for educational purposes only. Don't offer or ask for invites. >Staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers.
ORPH is closed off atm and not excepting new members I understand that you want in and because of this it is probably the most sought after tracker atm Just be patient
thank you for coming to this thread and posting this comment here. you are so valuable. *sarkasm*

What’s the value in private trackers? They seem more trouble than they’re worth. The amount of effort they take you could have already gotten a job and bought the stuff.
I could use a private tracker, if I get in. Or I can give Apple $10 and have all the music I need instantly from anywhere. No waiting for seeders, organizing files, etc. $10 a month is not a big deal. That’s less than 1 album costs.
As for other things it’s pretty much the same. And you can just use a paid VPN on public sites. May as well be a private tracker because no one is getting after you.
What’s the selling point exactly? I’m genuinely curious. These leaders seem to be pretentious dweebs.

>The amount of effort they take you could have already gotten a job and bought the stuff. I have a job and I still use private trackers. This is an asinine statement. Private trackers take almost no effort. I spend way more time figuring out problems at work than I do seeding or uploading new torrents. Even a 10 year old boy could use private trackers and he would consider it non-work.
> And you can just use a paid VPN on public sites. That doesn't solve all the problems private trackers solve.
>What’s the selling point exactly? I have not paid a dime to use private trackers. No seedboxes. Nothing. 5 years now.
Brandon Parker
Or you could give CrApple $0 and retain your self respect by pirating all your media. Fuck corporations.
this question is often asked by people who aren't in p trackers. their main attraction has nothing to do with money.
Chase Johnson
Are AHD & BeyondHD any good? It will be a while until I have the requirements for PTP.
Thomas Thompson
If you know the bare minimum about digital audio and codecs, and how private trackers work, (which is kinda essential to using the site) the only hard part of the interview is waiting for your turn.
Source: got in at 1st attempt after reading the wiki for 30 mins.

AHD is worthwhile, BHD only if you are interested in 4k remuxes.

NNTP

tools.ietf.org/html/rfc977 *NNTP that was then subverted when people started base64 (later yenc2) encoding binary files to post as news articles.
Charles Cox
>Snahp.it? And ITI
Jack Foster
Are you arguing that since the files are distributed across multiple servers that it isn't DDL? Mirrors don't make it magically not DDL.
Genuinely curious.
Andrew Perez
NNTP is direct download you morons. It's just files on servers like any mega or whatever.
