IQ is the meme. The correlation is totally unsurprising given the definition of intelligence it uses was conceived by a member of a race.
This is oversimplified, but basically true -- assuming that the definition of intelligence provided by the IQ test is the only relevant definition of intelligence.
The problem with IQ is it's limited scope. There's (*most likely) more to being intelligent than solving geometric puzzles.
