Would you use text based (n-curses) firefox?

What if there was a fully functional textmode web browser?

Meaning everything will work from a simple 100% html based text site to complete Facebook envinronment?

With the exception there being no videos or pictures.. But the sites would work and they would truly believe the user of the site sees pictures and video eventhough he doesnt.

The browser would fool the sites.
You could even use your own banks site with a text mode browser.

Would such a thing gain an userbase?

none of those are truly functional, most web sites wont work with those

You want to run JavaScript on a terminal browser?

exactly

That's not the browsers fault. That's the fault of web devs not making sites that work in terminal browsers. Sites with good accessibility practices in development, function better in terminal browsers than the majority of top 500 websites.
