>systemd 243 upgrade broke hardware acceleration
>Xorg broke after mesa update
Jesus Christ, the memes from 2006 are still true to this day. I thought Arch was supposed to be reliable now?
Systemd 243 upgrade broke hardware acceleration

Your fault for using systemd
What should I do, all the distros that matter/have good support use systemdick
what are you talking about? seriously tho can i have a link or something because i'm currently running arch and it's still fine
It's on the forums
bbs.archlinux.org
ahh i guess the time has come!
DISTRO HOP TIME
seriously though, i said to myself 3 months ago when i first tried arch that i'll change when problems occur, people said arch has no problems, fuck that
works fine on my ubuntu installation
It broke for me too with AMD APU.
Putting amdgpu into MODULES in mkinitcpio.conf for early KMS loading helped.
I'd guess for Intel it should be somewhat similar.
>pajeet can't configure Xorg
>blames archlinux
Just install some variant of Ubuntu and never distrohop again
works on my machine
That's what you get when you rely on relics display servers from the 80s, and not Wayland
I just have a script which restores my xorg configs
And for hardware acceleration I just reinstall the nvidia drivers
>And for hardware acceleration I just reinstall the nvidia drivers
Based nvidia devs, bringing microsoft solutions to linux.
>What should I do
literally install gentoo
>Just install some variant of Ubuntu
no that's shit, i would go with debian tho
Wayland is broken by this update too, you fuck.
Use Fedora if you can't stop fucking up Arch
> I thought Arch was supposed to be reliable now?
It will never be a stable distro since it uses unstable versions.
>xorg.conf
Found the problem. xorg.conf is deprecated in favor of xorg.conf.d. This is where the xorg.conf meme comes from. If his problems persist after fixing that I'm willing to look into this issue, otherwise it's a user error.
I use the testing repos, yet, somehow, avoid all of these issues. So weird.
testing repos are still 10 years behind arch.
The arch testing repos where the place new packages before moving them to the regular arch repos are behind in which way?
my bad gentleman, i thought you meant that "other" distro

Arch always was and always will be a debian wannabie.
Arch is not a wannabe. No other distro pulls the crap arch does
Funny, because Wayland doesn't have Hardware Acceleration at all for Nvidia cards! You will never break what never existed in the first place.
>nouveau doesnt exist
It's hella comfy.
why is systemd bad and what was the old alternative? sorry guys im newfag
Install Fedora. Arch users are basically the beta testers for it. Once all discovered bugs are fixed, Fedora repos get the new version. See GNOME 3.32 release. Broke Arch to hell and back, soon after that, Fedora 30 with a stable GNOME 3.32 was released.
Get a job.
fedora cucks are just RHEL beta testers for corporations
Fedora is an extremely stable and secure distro so RHEL has something good to build upon.
imagine unironically using arch
I don't need to imagine
>he doesn't compile his wayland compositer himself
kek
That and Novideo are fucking shitbags
Wow, an actual arch user!
Do you suck cocks?
Old alternatives were bad.
Current alternatives like OpenRC is good but since systemd required considerable changes most distros are stuck with it right now and it's treated as a defacto standard.
Just updated my arch install and nothing went wrong
Get fucked OP
Prolly novideo user
I got video
A video of your mom sucking my dick
>Gaymer
Just use Windows for graphics support.
nah I'm straight
now reboot
Yup just upgraded and now kde hangs on boot. Typing this in windows.
Sigh I miss my macbookpro.
How is arch a debian wannabe when they're complete different distros in every sense of the word? They're polar opposites what are you smoking user?
SysV init.
>Old alternatives were bad.
Compared to systemd they weren't.
>KDE
Stop using shitty DEs/distros.
>arch linux is super stable guyz!
install fedora
People with jobs use Windows or if they’re LGBTQP, MAC OS X
try the artix fork op
arch without systemd and uses openrc like gentoo for init, use the bare bones iso though because they riced it kinda badly imo
So this is the power of Linux, hahahaha.
Systemd is a core part of the linux kernel and they cannot run independently from another.
MX Linux's method of resolving systems dependencies without using systems is looking smart right now.
kill yourself, phoneposter
Ypu first
Using the bleeding edge kernel, what did you expect? Use the LTS kernel if you're not trying to debug system issues.
>Youtube on Chrome, and even scrolling a website in Chrome goes just a few frames a second. Firefox is less affected.
>Chrome
Ah, so it's just a user error.
Bullshit.
Werks on my machine.
fpbp
no it doesn't
and never did
>all the plebians iitt
yet more proof about the subhumans who use that crap
>See GNOME 3.32 release. Broke Arch to hell and back
[citation needed]
>rebooting
>ever
>one guy broke his pc
>blame arch linux
Just rebooted and no problamo.
Based.
