view what code is running on your own machine

And why would you want to do that?

Only of Linux Kernel and individual packages, not entire Distribution faggot!

any point of communication between an internal network and the outside world should be independently auditable for security purposes, not just for consumers but also for companies dealing with valuable proprietary information
wut

4% ram and cpu usage

Work.

add enough ram and enough cpu and windows does that too

Actual qemu, not a glib facsimile

2 percent usage of my cpu currently.

Freedom, privacy, customisation, use a good filesystem and a good shell, compile software without fiddling with libs constantly.

Can you show me Ubuntu disk image source code in its entire form?

copy-on-write so ntfs doesn't fuck up your anime porn collection

No, only retards think they have a right to access a company's code. Also if you actually believe your right to privacy exceeds people's right to not be killed by right wing terrorists, you're sorely mistaken. Have a good day.

Peace!

not ubuntu, but certainly others

I can show you my distro's entire source code, it's Parabola.

Oh look it's this thread again, where freetards spout the most transparent bullshit that it convinces people to stay even further away from their ecosystem.
>fuck, if that os makes you that insane maybe i should avoid it

Works well on older hardware
Linux is (generally) more private and secure
Faster and lighter
Much better customization
And has better package managers
If you dont care, thats ok,people like different things in an OS.

Yes, pajeet, freedom is insane.

This

programming on windows sucks ass, it's hard to imagine anything worse.

>Gentoo
I don't have a week to install, like you retard!

>Debian:
Not a single package, KEK

>Parabola
I earn money, not a NEET faggot

Lol, freetards now consider being able to look at the code as being secure.
Hackers will look at the code to exploit it, dumbasses. Enjoy your hacked OS.

>security through obscurity

>implying microsoft doesn't have a "critical update warning" every week for a new vulnerability found by a third party without access to source code

Sure CIA!

He says, as his antivirus runs in the background.

>4.4GB of 32GB RAM in use from booting Win10
What a pile of shit, I run Ubuntu MATE and it uses under 0.8GB on boot.

Oh, I also get to decide when to update software. I'm an embedded systems engineer, and win10 would force an update that would almost always break something that caused my R&D software to stop working.

Thats why people test it,you basically never need antivirus (im not sayimg viruses are a huge issue on windows, but it just never happens on linux.)

Proof

Not be spied on.

>I'm an embedded systems engineer, and win10 would force an update that would almost always break something that caused my R&D software to stop working.
if it won't even work on your updated computer then how do you expect it to work on customer's devices?

>What is regedit?
>What is gpedit?
>What is MSVC?

Good inbred, keep fucking kike

I wish there was a Linux distro that felt exactly like windows

>embedded systems engineer
>customer's devices

I build the hardware and software that runs standalone, no computer needed. That's an embedded system, its all self contained and what is on my computer is no matter.

Sluggish and unstable?

Coping freetards.
Keep giving hackers free information, retards, they will love you.

I know what those are, and I've tried killing services and other startup programs. It helps some, but there are a lot of services that you simply cannot disable, or windows automatically enables it again.
>Windows Defender
>Windows Update
Try turning them off. Windows may tell you they are off, but they still run in the background.

I like having a clean slate that I can chose what to enable, not have everything showed in my face at the start.

What can you do in the US that I can't do in north Korea ?

You are asking people to explain what they can do in Linux that you cannot do in Windows.
The presumption being that there is no point swapping to linux because there is nothing more you can do in Linux that you cannot do in windows. Let me tell you. In linux the desktop environment is a completely separate technology to the operating system itself. That is not true of windows. In windows the desktop environment is actually part of the operating system. If you disable some parts of the desktop environment in windows nothing will boot.
disable all of the desktop environment in Linux and you can still boot into a text only environment and run all of your programs

>Calls him a kike
>Supports windows
I bet you have an Intel processor too

>I know what those are
The group policy editor is not for services, faggot. It's an administrative tool and you can disable updates completely using it.

I dont give anything,in the same way you dont download stupid sh*t on windows, that doesnt happen at all on linux cause most is downloaded through a package manager.

See this:

>group policy editor is not for services
Never said it was, I was speaking about everything as a whole
>you can disable updates completely using it
Do you actually believe this? If you are running an LTS copy I agree, but those are for hardware running without internet connections that are purposed for one thing, like a CPU running an MRI machine in a hospital.
Aside from that, the other 99% of computers running Win10 have updates always enabled, and cannot be disabled.

I use Windows 10 Pro and I can disable updates completely with an organizational policy.

4.4GB was with Chrome with 5 tabs one being a youtube video running with a twitch stream, spotify, steam, nvidia drivers, wallpaper engine, rainmeter, steelseries engine, audio drivers.

With all aps closed down except those in tray I use 3.1GB
(running steam, nvidia drivers, wallpaper engine, rainmeter, steelseries engine, audio drivers)

Attached: 3.1GB with tray aps running.jpg (3840x2160, 1.34M)

You can disable the 'testing' updates or getting updates monthly, but microsoft releases major updates every so often that your computer downloads and installs automatically. You literally cannot stop it, MS even said so.

You can stop lying any time. A fresh win10 install is rated at 3.8 GB on boot.
Until you can get it under 1GB, you are still bloated.

Fedora is extremely open about anything they do

The distro is made up of literally just that. You can look at how the installer works. Fedora allows you to make your own ISOs even

Attached: sdgsdgsdg.png (1375x655, 11K)

No independent third party audit of systemd exists. Fedora is as compromised and malware ridden as windows.

Did you not see my screenshot? It showed you what's running in tray and I even listed them for you)

Here, I closed down everything except nvidia drivers and audio drivers. It's using 2.8 GB ram, see screenshot

Attached: 2.8gb windows 10.jpg (3840x2160, 1.11M)

>KIKE
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OY VEY

So you say Windows is better?
Also source?

Your point?
You post a white screen, yay.
The screen has been trimmed and edited too, its missing standard elements from the settings menu.

No independent third party audit of any init and service management system exists.

Oh boy, you closed out a lot of programs and services and you are still at almost 3GB, that is just sad.

(Not the person your reponding to)
Thats is pretty bloated,id prefer to do more with less.

Stop shilling Windows 10, you fucking toddlers. It's shit, you have to be retarded to use it. How can you even defend an OS that's literally a spyware, bloated with telemetry that reinstall themselves each update.

unused ram is wasted ram

Mine is using 400mb on my Kubuntu

fork()

I got 32GB ram what are you some kind of poorfag? I've never once run out of ram ever since windows 10 came out, not even close. So for casual usage it's just fine. If you run aps which use lots of ram perhaps you could need to optimize for ram usage but why not just buy more ram?

A fresh start of windows 10 feels way less bloated than Ubuntu

I've got 32GB as well, but I actually use it for mass processing, CAD renderings, virtual machines and more.
The point isn't that you don't have enough space, its that Windows forces things to load and you can't stop it.

t. says who is a NEET with his NEETbux

To be fair,it has much more potential than being it being used for bloat.
I like doing more with less spent (thats why i dont buy apple stuff)
linux allows me to be more flexible and have extra money for more important stuff.

What advantage does copy-on-write even offer? Why would you need multiple copies of the same thing on the same volume?

The absolute state of wintoddlers.

>fag has been cucked so hard, he doesn't know about opensource
Kek

Since 2012 (Win 8)
KEK

That sounds pretentious. I'm sure you don't fully use your ram and if you do you could just buy a stick of ram or two. What is linux for homeless people? I've got access to so many more aps in windows plus games with good performance unlike linux, it's incomparable.

An easy way to update by cli.

-t poorfag barely sustaining himself can't buy a stick of ram

Nice shilling Ubuntu m8

BTW, I don't use arch

Fake French faggot

>you have privacy and freedom
>can customize it however you want
>much faster boot times

A shitload of things due the fact you can actually write drivers for linux without paying a fortune for licensing.

Don't have to worry about whether my computer will boot after an update

stay mad

Attached: gsp belt.jpg (400x600, 41K)

I remember when I got coaxed into trying linux I ran linux mint and every time I tried installing a program it asked me for my password. Coming from windows that's a big encumbrance.

literally a one(1) line fix

oh,sorry
I only put 8 gigs in my PC,so i do use it,and no im not homeless,i just like saving.
And i dont need those apps, and like 90% of games work just fine for me (but to be fair proton was optimized for AMD,and ut may be bad in nvidia).

Some people have jobs, and some of those jobs require the use of computers with win10. I still prefer Linux tho.

sudo rm -rf/

I tried every fix online and none worked, only faggots in forum responding with a warning how dangerous that was.

>shilling noobuntu
When I do that?

Completely brick your PC

be a pedo

Awesome, I made two valid points for why linux is better than win10, defended those points, and now no one wants to argue with me anymore.
Protip: Its because I'm right.

Later wintoddlers, enjoy your bloated spyware

I had to use some piece of shit deprecated IBM software for my job too at some point but you don't see me passionately shilling it on fourchannel

>posting reasonable well thought out replies in a bait thread

I can't say from experience, but it appears it would suck trying to program from Windows. There are always special added instructions in the docs for windows that look a lot more complicated than the simple bash command I used.

Wait, why hasn't anyone ever thought of this? We're all fucked!

Yep. Linux keeps the house clean. Windows sweeps the trash under the sofa and sends pest control by to spray once a week.
