GNOME 3.34 has released!

GNOME 3.34 has released!

Do you like GNOME?

Will you try this release?

Attached: Gnome-logo.png (600x364, 10K)

No, it doesn't run on my IOT leaf blower yet

A GNU/Linux experience that just works? No thanks, I have autism.

shilling fag fuck off, you don't even get paid for this...

This but unironically

I can't wait to see what new features have been removed.

They actually really improved performance with this release. I was getting so much lag that the animation for All Apps wouldn't even display on

Ho ho ho ha ha, ho ho ho he ha. 'Ello, my old chum. I’m gnot an gnelf. I’m gnot a goblin. I’m a gnome. And you’ve been, GNOMED!!!

Attached: e6b.jpg (1200x935, 166K)

no, the tablet-y design still sucks

Still nothing on Arch...

I like Gnome, but it should be more minimal

This. Why are they still committed to it? It is clear that everything is not a tablet, its been like 10 years since they ruined gnome.

dont care
no
no

back to reditt

>almost entirely keyboard driven
>tablet-y design
?

Anything with a big focus on app icons is dogshit design for a desktop.

No and no. I gave it a try and it decided to disappoint me.

How can people like this

They could do away with the Application overview thing, that autists screech about. Then it wouldn't "look like a tablet". It's pretty useless to anyone who knows how to use Gnome.

you're an idiot and that describes every single desktop ever made, pic related

I know! Ubuntu installs plugins, plugins are not condoned or supported by the GNOME devs

Gnome 3 is the worst Gnome. Somehow Linux devs thought taking the worst from MacOS and Windows 8 was a great way to make a UI

I mean on something like windows the focus is more on organizing everything by your folders, whereas on Ubuntu it’s massive ugly icons you access from an application page. It’s different, Ubuntu shoves this APP design in your face like it wants to be an ipad

Nothing has changed in this release...

I hate the layout but goddamn the image is gorgeous

>Linux, a kernel
>UI
>gnome trannies = linux
no

Looks pretty good to me. It has all I, an average user, needs. I even learned recently that my favourite video game runs just fine using proton. Now the only thing that keeps me from uninstalling Windows is some game I play with friends that requires anti cheat.

My debian testing is still on 3.30.

>Do you like GNOME?
No. It's slow, has shit UI and is difficult to use.
>Will you try this release?
No

Waiting on clear linux

Neat.
Sure.
When the next version of Fedora hits.

Good thing GNOME doesn't have a big focus on app icons, then. You'd know this if you had actually used it, but you've decided to form your view by screenshots and the popular opinion of/g/.

I'll agree the app grid is ruddy awful, but I can probably count the number of times I've used it on one hand. This being since 3.4 or 3.6. I doubt the average user on Jow Forums would use it any more than me, and judging the DE over something you wouldn't touch seems silly at best.

>GNOME 3.34 has released!
ok
>Do you like GNOME?
No, not really.
>Will you try this release?
Maybe in 2022 or something

gonna compile tomorrow or saturday if it's not released in fedora 30

> GNOME

Hey, did you know you're running Firefox?

Also, CHECK OUT THE TIME FGT, IT'S CENTERED AND YOU CAN'T GET RID OF IT. BTW, DID YOU CHECK THE TIME?

>Gnome over KDE
Give me 1 reason why default fags

What browser is that?

Thank you based clear linux developers

Install frippery clock if you're autistic about the time being centered

the dock being visible all the time is an Ubuntuism.

Having the time and date centred there is nice though.

>GNOME 3.34 has released!
What new cancers have they introduced now?
>Do you like GNOME?
No
>Will you try this release?
No

Seriously fuck GNOME, fuck the GNOME devs, and fuck OP

Remove the desktop icon and that looks pretty gorgeous desu.

t. Unriced i3 user.

>They actually really improved performance with this release
Gnome3 was released 8 years ago. You think they could have perfected performance at this point.

They've been doing all kinds of performance improvements over the years but now they're refactoring and rewriting many of the flashy animations, the big gay fullscreen app menu in particular is noticeably faster as the animations have been rewritten

Clear Linux is actually impossibly based

It makes old n3060 netbooks feel like they have a new processor due to the intel op

Can't tell if pretending or not.

unity was unironically the only good thing about ubutnu

For a windows manager experience

I like cinnamon

Wow dude, chill out

Probably when I upgrade my desktop to Fedora 31. But I wish I knew why GNOME developers don't just give up. Nobody uses it really. I work for one of the largest corporations in the world, with hundreds of developers, and in all my years there, only one other person besides myself runs Linux on their workstations, and they don't use GNOME. Everyone else literally uses Macs, but a few use Windows.

To clarify, I mean I work with hundreds of developers directly. The company was well over 400k employees when I first joined.

It's the Windows 8 UI of Linux DEs.

imagine turning your pc into an iphone because anything more complicated confuses you.

Reminder that GNOMEniggers now deny pic related ever happened

Attached: 1521760731235.png (249x238, 32K)

is there really no way to put that bar on the bottom?

i try gnome around every 2 years. its never been productive enough for me to use on a daily basis. i dont have hope for it but i do think itd be nice if one day they either make it usable or give up

what do you use instead? i'm looking at alternatives that just work and allow me to be productive

>GNOME 3.34 has released!
Time for my to -Syu. I hope Arch doesn't break this time.

Attached: archfags.webm (800x600, 1.64M)

Don’t care.

you have to be retarded to use gnome 3

New wallpaper looks nice I guess. Can't tell any other obvious improvements.

Attached: Screenshot from 2019-09-12 22-32-59.png (1920x1080, 2.38M)

>yes i'm retarded, how could you tell?

Do you read the patch notes of every single package right before you update?

they finally gave us drag n drop app folders..
..but you cant rename them

gaa-nomed again

Attached: 304026.jpg (480x360, 12K)

Ok.

No, not really. I only like the Dock, which is an idea from OS X, so...

Nope.

yikes, this user is literally retarded, kek

Attached: proxy.duckduckgo.com.jpg (474x355, 30K)

advertising is against the rules

It's still in testing. Activate the gnome-unstable repo in your pacman.conf and sudo pacman -Syu if you're impatient, like me.

Imagine being a filthy footfag.

1. Gnome is better.

It's not exactly exciting in terms of features, but its supposed to have some performance increases.

Gnome Music is supposed to have some big improvements, which i would kind of like to see as it was quite an aesthetic if unreliable music player.

When will it arrive to debian SID?

kek, underrated

/thread

no
and no
If I wanted something eating my ram for breakfast I'd be using windows

Lollypop is better

Thank you so much!
GNOME 3.34 is great and the animations are incredibly smooth!
Happy to know that those 3/4 extentions I've installed are still working like a charm, thanks again!

I switched to Debian from Windows recently, after 1 month of Gnome I want to switch DE. What do you recommend? Cinnamon?

Show me your extensions ya nigs

Attached: 2019-09-13 13-25-51.png (684x678, 63K)

KDE, runs very smooth

EvilGnome or bust.

Yes, has always worked well for me.

sauce?

Wow, fag. You need to really focus on updating your memes. My grandma sent me that one years ago on Instagram.

>8 extensions needed for a half-way usable desktop
gnomeniggers are hilarious

Attached: 1475020500713.gif (500x349, 906K)

Why do you need them at all?
Just type a few letters of application name.

Does it still steal underpants?

chrome

>literal javascript for desktop just to do what kde does by default

Attached: 1422402913128.jpg (629x800, 133K)

There you go :v

Attached: muh_minimalism.png (727x213, 16K)

No, because xfce is the best DE

Honestly, I'm gonna try gnome and other GTK based DE's when gtk4 comes out

Use wayland
