They do not have a monopoly, there are plenty of other themeparks, some much better if you have more interest in extreme rides as Disney doesn't really do those at all. You can buy a season pass for most theme parks that cost less than a day pass for Disney World, and they will have more rides. I have a membership for Six Flags that I can use to enter any Six Flags for my wife, son, and myself that costs $720 a year for all three of us. We go to a park for two or three days every two months and have a blast.
