The sad reality is that there's no such thing as privacy anymore. A smartphone will just give your whole life to companies. >just don't use smartphones lmao Meanwhile in the real world people are using whatsapp to communicate, and staying with a dumbphone means you'll most likely miss vital info for day to day stuff. Even if you avoid that, and avoid proprietary software and all that, more and more countries are adopting the chinese style facial recognition cameras that will track you down, plus notions like wrongthink and people getting services denied to them means there's already a shadow-social-credit system at play.

There's no reasoning with these types. They think it's a virtue to be spied on, and genuinely believe it's possible to beat people into trusting authority. They have some serious identifying with the aggressor coupled with "can't happen to me" going on.
