What’s the point. Gnome is shit and probably always will be. Pretty much every major DE is better from KDE, XFCE, Cinnamon or the rest. I would take a pile of shit over gnome

KDE is unstable
XFCE is dead
Cinnamon is okay but the design is garbage.

worst DE ever.. even Unity was better.

Have you fucksticks even used 3.34?
It's fast as fucking balls now.

>It's fast as fucking balls now.
lol, are you serious? Which DE ever has problems with response time? Speed is not a feature for a DE idiot.

Is it out on Fedora 30 yet?

>XFCE is dead
How long will you brainlets persist with this? It's the best DE of our time.

lol, are you serious?

It'll be in 31, I upgraded to beta today to try it out.
Shit's fuckin' great cunts.

Hey that is my hometown

>KDE is unstable
Except it's not?
>XFCE is dead
Latest major release was less than a month ago
>Cinnamon is ok but the design is garbage
Cinnamon is the worst of these three and looks alright OOTB

Based

you mean there's less overhead and i doubt it

Have they written detailed documentation for every part of every library, restructured their libraries to be less pants on head retarded, stopped using javascript, and removed the cunt devs who ask other projects to bend over backwards for them?

Cons:
>No new features
Pros:
>No features removed

In summary, a pretty good release

meh i used it for a day yesterday and it was still shit, too slow for my liking and the workflow is just slow for me.
KDE isn't that unstable, just take a 10 minutes to setup the widgets and here you go, a stable good DE

KDE is more stable for me than XFCE

Sorry, It's still on 3.30 on my Debian Buster and even it was version 10.12323230 I wouldn't use it because gnome is shit, their devs are retarded, and Xfce just works.

>KDE is unstable
I mean sure, if you're from the year 2014.

awesomewm is the only WM/DE you will ever need

>Except it's not?
Except it is. One of the most unstable pieces of software I have ever come across.

>still an iPad OS

The single most keyboard driven DE (outside of WMs)
>TaBlEt OS!!!

Not him but I had trouble setting shortcuts for virtual desktops and drag and drop was a pain to use because I needed to press shift or something.

Lots of trivial stuff I wanted to do too but couldn't because I had no idea where the option was.

I'm not defending gnome tho. Gnome didn't even source my dotfiles

Xfce all the way only thing its not great is its slow development cycle but it is stable doesn't hog a shit ton of memory and is highly costumizable

I'm sorry. This is actually fast.

But still awful to use.

It crashes like crazy when using any chromium based browser.

Dilate

I'm sorry, Gnome 3.34 is incredible. I'm sorry that you have to wait for your distro to compile it for you. I'm sorry that no other wm or de can match up.

>KDE is unstable
no
very rarely Akonadi (storage service for personal information management) crashes, but nobody gives a shit about it
it restarts automatically in the background anyway
apart from this: perfectly stable

Nah, I am ok with the m8.

On Ubuntu based systems maybe.
Actually a main reason for me to leave *buntu behind. Fuck that shit.

I'm using Arch but I've tried KDE Neon as well. I mean I still use Plasma because personally I think all other DEs are garbage but KDE is most certainly not stable either.

This, i have had zero problems with kde on all generations of amd cards i ever had. Even the immature radeon drivers from 2011 never gave me problems on kde 4. I have got no clue what everybody keeps bitching about. I never used the PIM suite or nepomuk/baloo either and waited for pulseaudio to not be shit before switching to it, so that could be a factor. But those are brainlet problems and are not exactly DE specific. I remember I had to disable tracker in gnome so that i could actually play some shit 2D platformers on a shittop with ubuntu. Fuck search indexers.

>it works for me because I'm so smart all everyone else is a brainlet
Fucking idiot bugs.kde.org/

what's new

>software has bugs
wow, shocking

did you take a loot at how many bugs there are? including AMD bugs

Using Plasma on Arch on multiple machines, too. The only one that has a problem sometimes is the one with nvidia graphics. The other run on intel and are pretty much rock solid.

Who gives a shit about a bug tracker flooded with niche problems that nobody gives a fuck about? I can play my windows porn games and AA games just fine and nothing crashes here and that shit has worked that way since kde 4 was a thing. Don't give me that bullshit that "hardware is different" If you buy crapware that shits itself by the slightest use then you should probably return that bullshit.

I give a fuck because it's giving me trouble as well and you just claimed that only brainlets have trouble with KDE.
>hardware is different"
hardware IS different you fucking moron and it has nothing to do with crapware. Imagine being this ignorant.

IDGAF, learn to not cheap out on silicon if you don't want to lose the lottery, senpai.

I'm so sorry for you, Canonical.
Being stuck with getting the foot somewhat usable must suck.

but maybe you can tell me which part of my hardware is exactly crap:
Ryzen 2700X
ASUS RX580
Asus Prime X470-PRO
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200

I can't, simply because i don't give a shit about what is the best currently available when I'm not in the market for it myself. Why should I bother with that shit? Every single generation has a different winner, you simply can't say "asus good, gigabyte bad" because it ain't true every damn year. They jew out on different parts every damn time.

Well the thing is I give a shit about what I buy as well but you just accused me of buying shit. Seems like you're an ignorant stupid fuck.

Works for me.

>kde has 200 bugs and graphical glitches, and krashes
>hurr nu care kde dindu nuthin
your average kde apologist
meanwhile
arguments against gnome
>l-looks like a tablet!
>yeah right haha *samefag*
meanwhile, gnome is the most keyboard driven DE in existence.
KDE at most has alt+f4 to close windows lmao
>b-but you can add it!
yeah right, like you do, you only use your mouse because you are closet windows fags

Imagine being a gnomecuck
Imagine wanting to use appleshit, but you can't afford it so you just rip it off
LOL

Works

My machine

he's right, other DE's don't have menu in the titlebar. Making it immediately different to your garbage deprecated software

>make programs for my computer pls do the needful sir do the port to kde
kek, keep seething. If your desktop was better, you wouldn't be begging for gnome to give you free programs

Why are people getting so defensive over desktop environments?

>KDE is unstable
I've been using KDE on three machines for the past two years and it's I have barely run into any problems. Once I got used to it, everything went smoothly. I dunno where you're getting your info, but it is incorrect.

I'm sorry.
-Gnome Dev

Ahh nigger brains in action.

>the design is garbage
>said by gnome apologist

does it still have memory leaks and crash by design

>unity is never coming back

πάλι πούτσα έρχεται kωλόγαυρε

kill yourself, mate

To all other niggers supporting KDE

If you close your computer 5 times a day, KDE is the best thing, indeed. Very cute and fancy and amazing. If you try to leave it open for 1-2 weeks, though, it might partially crash.. It might start leaking (as a result of the crash or not). The Akonadi (I think it was) makes Plasma as usable as Windows, on a hard drive, at least...

Give me a solution that isn't bloated then. Gnome is bloat

Sure kid

Attached: gnome vs xfce.png (1024x1024, 163K)

tell me that when thunar will recognize Position Independent Executables and allow you to run them without opening the terminal.

So, who is forcing you to use akonadi? Not only do you seem to know what your problem is, you are also not doing anything to solve that problem. Akonadi is not part of kde plasma.

>Position Independent Executables
The fuck is that?

Every single DE has something I dislike.
KDE is nice and feature full, but it uses Qt which is a pain in the ass to get to look correctly.
MATE is nice, but looks primitive.
LXDE is nice, but the multiple display support is trash.
XFCE is basically a slightly more refined MATE.
Cinnamon is the most refined, but barely has any themes that don't look like anus.

>akonadi
>named after the oracle goddess of justice in Ghana

Why do loonix tards love naming their shit after niggers? Ubuntu did it too.

WE WUZ

Did you try KDE on a non-outdated distro, such as arch? KDE used to be unstable for me as well on ubuntu and when trying KDE lately on arch i dont have any issues anymore

JUST USE WINDOW MANAGER
