What case do you like to house your PC in?

I like mATX, you have all the functionality of a full-sized a ATX board and case for 90% of people. I mean really guys how many of you actually use all the slots of your ATX? How many hard drives do you really have in your rig in 2019?
But at the same time it doesn't have the limitations of an ITX board. I can build a system with 16 gigabytes of RAM and then upgrade that to 32 if I need to, you have the ability to run to GPU cobbs if you wish jellyfish, and unlike the majority of small form factor cases the small-town designs of mitx cases can support open air cooling 4 gpus and can use almost any CPU cooler effectively.

itx should cover 90% of the market.
1 * pci 16x
2 * ram slots
4 * sata
1* nvm 4x
tell me, if you need more? i don't have any 3.5" hdd in my pc because they are to noisy! so since optical meme drives are dead Fractal's Meshify C is a nice case. mATX is budget mainboard class so no vendor is putting any effort in it. nothing wrong with the size. i would prefer to have the power supply in the front top so it would use empty space instead making every tower higher it should move to the front. the new Mac pro has a nice concept for cooling GPU. big ass tower cooler are nice but they can damage the board while moving the case. so BTX was right about screwing the cpu cooler into the case.

>psu shroud blocking the gpu fans
how the fuck does that work?

air is like liquid u know?

>Define R6
>Room for a tripple slot tripple fan GPU
>ventilation gap
>Dedicated soundcard for my hi-fi headphones
>HDDs to hoard anime and porn aren't ever audible in a quiet case on rubber mounts
>Extra SSDS for linux partitions

Oh and i forgot to mention
IT'S DEAD FUCKING QUIET

are you German?

Inwin 301c. Shitty airflow, but just use a WC loop and you'll have no issues. Hell, use 2 AIO WCs if you're feeling lazy. If you're retard-tier lazy, WC just the cpu and you'd be fine. I've got a r5 1600 and 290x in mine with no issues.

No.
But an engineer and autist anyway.
So i approached picking the cooling, the fans and the case very seriously.

Just couldn't settle for anything less than the very best cooling there is.

nigga do you not see the /guts/ thread?

Compact ATX for me.Built in the H500 and Meshify C earlier this month, just got the Pure Base 500 I've been waiting for and it looks to be a winner for me as the stock fans are much better than the ones that come with the other options.

this is the best build possible with on the shelf components.

BECAUSE YOU HAVE ONE FUCKING EXHAUST FAN YOU RETARD

>GPU fan intake directly on top of PSU
>best possible

For what, idiots?

I dread to think about the thermals on that GPU

Shock mounted rack unit with a switch, PDU, and 4u server case repurposed for my "desktop"
/comfy/ and easy to move when needed.

u2 rack in a converted cc spare room

mATX works for me.

I did ATX for a decade, EATX for years.

System temps are just fine in mATX, and with smaller sizes for SSDs and stuff there is no reason to go larger.

Why on Earth did you do etx?

I always used to build with ATX size boards because I thought they looked cool because they were so big

Nah not enough. I run 2x NVMe drives and 3 3.5 inch HDDs. Dual GPUs a 10Gig network card and 64gig o' RAM.
I think ITX is great for a HTPC tho.

Around 70 at full load and reasonably quiet.

Sapphire cooler is incredibly good.

>Just couldn't settle for anything less than the very best cooling there is.
Why are you using air cooling then?
My custom loop has fans turning 300rpm and everything still runs 1/2 the temps compared to air. I can render something for 30+min and my GPU is still sub 35C.
And it's dead quiet, so low a DBA meter can't pick up anything from it.

Fucking correct.

I got myself a Meshify because I hate empty space. And even that is still too big.
