The UX of Windows 10 is absolutely horrible. Granted, it's pretty smooth on an SSD, but the way the menus are set up is just a nightmare. Two settings menus, a gorillion of different gui administrative tools all over the place, no customization etc... When I use Linux it feels a lot more simple, yet I have more influence over my system.

And the "terminal" on Windows is just fucking cancer. How is it so damn slow? It's fast to open but then it lags for like two seconds before you can actually type anything. Just recently I tried to set up a beginner webdev environment for my friend and the experience was not pleasant. You end up having to maintain at least two systems if you want to program on Windows.

Personally I use linux because it's fun. I have windows installed as a backup on one laptop for software compatability reasons, but i just find linux to be fun to screw around with. maybe it is a hobbyist os; but I'm a hobbyis, so that's not really a detriment.

Linux have very customizable and more userfriendly software like image-editors, video editors.
