Exactly my point. If I had not gotten into my field sooner I wouldn't have nearly the same type of job or salary. I currently make 100K (Three raises one promotion) I was promoted from a Jr Programmer a couple years ago and now i'm looking to make Sr. Project Lead. When I started I was given 70K.

But looking at my company and the same field it's now 45K starting in the position I began and the turn over rate has nearly tripled. I can't remember the last time someone was promoted above a Jr position and those that stay any period of time don't improve. My workload has gone up so much because the code is basically pajeet tier now. Sign of the times and my autism can't handle it. Need to move fields.

So are torrents and private trackers, free text books for college, repairing your phone such as replacing the screen or built in battery is also easy too learn and it doesn't require a degree too learn programming either. But do people do it? No. They'll purchase textbooks and games/movies, they'll send the phone to a repair shop and only validate learning if it's from a class/college.

His last project was to write a small program for automatic backups to our off-site facility. That's it. He managed to fuck it up unsurprisingly, he didn't enable encryption, he didn't tunnel it through our intranet and he almost overwrote the last three months of backups.
