I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 from a Chinese eBay seller and got chinked: it's the international model with a Chinese bootloader, i.e. completely fucking useless.
I put in a return/refund request but what happens if the seller doesn't answer back? Can I get a Paypal refund?

To that one user in the last thread in the news. You can get infinite refunds but each time you refund you lose user score. The less user score you have the less of a chance aliexpress sides with you. If you get low enough aliexpress will side with seller 100% of the time. Only refund if you get chinked or yawened.

Not user in the last thread but In my experience, whenever I contacted the seller and told them that "Item is not working" or "Item did not arrive" they simply sent another. In theory, couldn't you order a product, wait for it to arrive, tell the seller that it doesnt work and then you just get a second item for free? Scummy thing to do but it shows that the system is kinda flawed.

Cheaper. That's it. Some chink shit like arduino costs pennies but is very expensive with a middleman (one middleman product is 20 dollars while chink is 3 dollars and does that same thing)
Just find something decent that is used. It will be better and cheaper. Most chink guitars are shit (the light blue was a chink one) and are labelled as toys compared to a real guitar.

Not him but ebay is a loooot different in that sellers have an actual incentive to not scam you or they'll just give you your money back. If the seller does not respond within the allowed time to a dispute, it automatically sides with you iirc. If they do they're still incentivized to resolve it with you. Worst case, just dispute with paypal.
Don't ever buy chink musical intruments, spend a little more and get something better, it's save you from a lot of head ache and money on the long run.

Is it common for sellers to create tracking numbers before sending them?
The item had 15 days processing time within the last twelve hours before the refund the order was shipped. Although there are no updates a day later on the package for an initial scan. Item had several items in stock. I have never faced this length of delay before shipping beyond a week delay but the tracking was faster for the initial scan.

The shipper gets a week or two to actually post it at the postal/package office or they can schedule a pickup and leave it with the label and let the shipping company take care of it

Well, I did a search. It looks like there is nothing sub 100 USD if I want non-shit quality and some semblance of image stabilization. And even so, my best bet is trying to find some old used/refurbished Go Pro or something like that.
How strongly should the ratings at aliexpress be trusted? I'm guessing they're a pile of dogshit. For instance, say I'm looking at a particular device. It's pretty much universal, the designs are open, the components are fairly simple, and the only visible difference is the type of wire used on an inductor and the use of a not-so-necessary heatsing, aside from 5 bucks in price.
One seller has 5.0 stars and has sold 20, the other 4.8 and 15.
