Over time they become cheaper. Cost to charge a 30kwh battery that will go 100 miles is less than a gallon of gas.

I don't have a problem with electric cars, but if you think you're helping the environment, you're kidding yourself. The electricity you filled the car with was still generated by fossil fuels, and that car probably took more energy to make than a traditional car with a combustion engine.

Hybrid cars are probably better than electrics, but it depends what type of hybrid it is. The best "hybrids" are just electric cars that have gasoline/diesel generators that kick in when needed.

Batteries don't last forever, by the time depreciation hits enough for even the most poor of poors to afford the car itself they will already need a new battery
We already have trouble making a smartphone battery last more than 3 years I doubt you can make an electric car battery last more than 10

Electric cars use batteries in very very narrow range. They charge them up to 4.0V I believe, and discharge to 3.4V. Per cell, of course.
Also they are using top quality cells, so it might even last 10-15 years.

Smartphone batteries are not BEV batteries.
