What is the 2010's aesthetic?

based

>2010's will be the tranny lgbtqwerty decade
Fuck this timeline.

There's more than that. Aesthetics changed about every 3 years and overlapped decades. They also existed in various social groups and media genres . So there was always 2-3 different aesthetics happening at the same time.

>What is the 2010's aesthetic?
There really isn't one anymore. Aesthetics and culture is now all just one big melting pot of internet bullshit. All the old things are now easily accessible. There's so many people online and taking part of world wide public culture that none of the old shit goes out of style. There has never been a time where so many people have lacked any real identity in regards to culture and aesthetics.

>2000's aesthetic is chrome, futuristic and silver

No it wasn't.

That was what everybody in the 90's THOUGHT the 2000's would look like.
They also though we'd have flying cars and holidays on the moon.
But they were wrong of course because entering a new millennium doesn't magically make everything futuristic.

>Nuff said.
God that shit annoys me so fucking much

Goddamn I miss those years!

Sexy Retro-Futuristic Films, Albums, Fashion Clothes, etc... before 9/11.

After that, basically everything went downhill.

Bubblegum pink vaporwave mixed with Apple store minimalism

>that blacklight neon rainbow speckled carpet they always had at theaters, bowling alleys, and arcades
>light blue/purple wavy pattern on paper cups
>mall music, the scent of soft pretzels and food stores
man I miss malls, my hardest nostalgia is walking around the mall as a kid
youtube.com/watch?v=wT21pNnVbs8
fugg

Mainstream: Muh minimalism, everything is sleek and all one color, the less buttons the better, trap and emo rap music on the radio but shitty acoustic pop in the commercials
Underground: Anime girls, music with a lot of synths and reverb, bright pink highlights, things from the past with various photoshop filters over them, rambling in all lowercase text, ironic everything

What's your favorite memory of 1990-2010 that makes you excited and want to travel back in time?

>muuuuhh aesthetic
Go back to plebbit, fuck face

Hauntology, why are we buying the same shit over and over again?

Flatshit and simplistic, minimalism over function, it's been like that for a good while.

The things I love from the past are interfaces with the use of grey instead of plain white, some subtle gradients here and there and how every bit of space was taken advantage of. Nowadays it's like 80% of the screen doesn't contain anything. Everything has some good amount of space in between. I understand that before it was a need because of low resolutions but still.

Just look at the color in those offices. The 70's must have been a real blast.

I still don't know why zoomers feel some kind of fake nostalgia for 80's neon aesthetic.

Except ACTUAL 1980s aesthetic was kinetic, bright, and hyper colorful.

People didn't play with their phones all the time, so you had human-to-human interactions.
I miss those the most.

Nobody had conversations with strangers on a bus or while standing in a line.

>There really isn't one anymore. Aesthetics and culture is now all just one big melting pot of internet bullshit.
Basically this
But this one is the most correct definition

2010s is obviously clean minimalism
Just look at any modern website or OS
It's mostly flat colors and large simple shapes
In a sense it's kind of like the 80s and 90s mixed together and then run through a sterilization process

Of course not.
But people did have conversations with people they knew.

I don't really know which things of the past did actually get me excited.
Funny how most of things of the past that I miss now used to rather annoy me back then.
For example, today I think that pixelated aliased text is aesthetic af, while back then the first thing I would do is turning ClearType on. I also used to adore the Mac and Linux blurry text rendering.
Or, I also thought that 2000s web was too clumsy and cluttered. (I still do actually, just take a look at DistroWatch, it's a complete disaster)
Sometimes it kinda sucks acknowledging that modern world is kinda soulless and it was built/influenced by people like me.

>What is the 2010's aesthetic?
Dyed hair and horn rimmed glasses.

Katy Perry and a game of thrones character splatted onto canvas with a bunch of tattoos everywhere.

Waiting for the bombs to go off on January 1st 2000

Gradients, Skeuomorphism, Curves

Wait nevermind I still think we're in 2009 sometimes

There was still a lot of sleek/shiny plastic-y shit in the 2000s though, and that's definitely what I remember the most.

The 1970s were better.

I go see my friends all the time, and still talk to them on the internet. Of all the bad things to pick that phones have done to society, you picked the retarded one?

unironically have sex

2007 was also the year last good pc exclusives were released (witcher and stalker) and after that it's only console ports and indie shit

Everything seemed to have froze in time from the 00's on.

low IQ nigger

have sex. maybe you'll learn to appreciate art when you grow a brain. go back to your lil reddit safespace where everything is painted the same sterile shade of white.

Absolutely disgusting.

That youtube video is also processed as shit before it even got compressed by YouTube.

That still looks nothing like the fake retro style that synthwave hipsters try to present as the 80s. You could have mentioned Tron, at least - and it still wouldn't be quite right.

What's some more media with the 00s aesthetic in the OP?

is this chris-chan?

watching that kid in fifth grade get mad and flip a table over
that was some funny shit

i'd say shit has stagnated big time from like 2009-2012

9/11 did literally nothing. The USA is not the entire world.
Technology and culture didn't change because of 9/11.

Big tits on girls that ain't ham planets

Based as fuck new edge wave car design minimal computer shit

No 1984 CCTV internet surveillance bullshit

Peak vidya

People actually social and friendly

Less niggers gooks and shit in my fucking country

Don't worry bros, it's coming back. The death knell of the 2010s is upon us. Soon this all have seemed like nothing more than a bad dream.

both are shit

Facial tattoos and dressing like a nigger were suddenly considered acceptable

>People actually social and friendly
Mainly this. It is incredibly how technology has turned people into fucking lemmings. Remember how I always had great conversations on the bus to school/university. Nowadays it is just 98% glued to their phone and a few boomers.

Yep it's fucked

Sick of it if I could splode mobiles all over the world with magic I'd do it.
PC's are great but fuck mobiles and social media

Attached: clappe.gif (636x515, 244K)

dorf fort was 2006

i cant help but see this through my preferences and biases.
growing up in 90's america, watching bush get into office through the supreme court, seeing the smoke of 9/11 with my own eyes, endless wars starting again from regions long fucked with, economic collapse as i became an adult watching all my friends and family unable to use their degrees or find jobs, desperate people voting for change while getting none, occupy wall street being crushed, cynical weaponization of identity politics, hillary cheating and paving the way for trump, and watching the media fully come into form as the dishonest corporate tools they always were.

im not sure if there is a look, but it has a feel. a desperate attempt at Authenticity, but knowing we are to far gone and surrounded by too many stupid people to actually achieve it or appreciate the attempt. if anything good happens a financial whore will ruin it, and dumb fucks will help them. perhaps humanity about to ender its teenage phase, slowly seeing through the fantasy.

>What is the 2010's aesthetic?
Vaporwave, 80s inspired neon shit but with an unsettling dystopic tinge
Sleek minimalism for many consumer products - or the illusion of it

>Hating Actor out of all the Lesbian Wine Aunt albums.

Besides, it came out in '09.

That's not a bad thing though
It opens up a lot of possibilities for creative types to borrow an old aesthetic for whatever purpose they need. It also means, if you disagree with the current aesthetic, you can latch on to something else.

It's retarded to talk about aesthetics in terms of decades anyway.

Sure smells like d/zoomer core in here

i'm saying i'm using the cover as an example, i love my old

Don't be so hopeful. You know it's only downhill from there. In the mid 2020's you're gonna be wishing for the 2010's to come back

Look at the cover of a math textbook from anywhere between 1983 and 1998. Infinite neon grids everywhere.

nope, it's cause 9/11 bro. fucked up any chance of getting a sweet flying car.

2010's aesthetic is just the blacked.com logo and the words 'Calvin Klein' on the edges of bras/underwear.

2000s aesthetic was actually chrome/silver paint over cheap Chinese plastic. It's pretty appropriate.

Am I nuts for thinking that 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga sounds like 'Blue'?

>Big tits on girls that ain't ham planets
>People actually social and friendly
>Less niggers gooks and shit in my fucking country
I know this feel.

t. Canada

"For the honor of Grayskull!"

It's not zoomers, it's millenials.

LOL USA
I'm so happy I'm euro.
USA is third world ethics + money + weapons. You have so much to learn.

1980s was colorful shapes and waves you fucking millennial
this leaked into the early 90s, the mid 90s to late 90s and early Y2K was black, grey and light cool neutral tones or clear acryllic showing off circuit boards they all had those auto generated rounded corners from autocad on everything
2000s was silver and white everything or anodized aluminium and made more streamline and had shallower curves around edges and ovoid organic shapes

>designed by a 1960s futurist

Like Europe is doing any better. Our own politicians are two faced traitors who use the same bullshit American melting pot arguments on us, while our universities and culture is just a glorified extension of America now. Literally no difference other than the fact that we're poorer.

>Literally no difference other than the fact that we're poorer
And our culture, or what it was, is getting enriched and raped by force, and that force are the leaders.

Attached: mokou_fire.jpg (500x375, 55K)

Aussie here you feel our pain
Also
>affordable housing
>big cheap cars

Well that's what the first part of my post meant.
Maybe another war will fix it, either way all the euro politicians are lower than scum.

It's because of these two countries voting against that the EU Constitution was rejected, what retard (or more likely, what asshat with an agenda) wrote this book?
