What are your biggest technological regrets?

Coming to this board.

Getting talked out of a 1080 Ti.

Buying a smartphone in my early 20s. You can do everything on a smartphone on a desktop PC, and everything worthwhile on a brickphone. The only functionality I remember using and thinking there was no way round it except for using a smartphone was using apps like Citymapper to check how to get from 'known location' to 'unknown location' or vice versa, which is impossible on an old-fashioned brick.
There's the convenience of on-the-go group chat messaging, taking photos and instantly sharing, but I find these to be gimmicks that you quickly grow out of once you've graduated university and entered the real world. Now I find that if I want to talk remotely, it's always to one person only.

I kind of regret getting a node 202.

it looks nice in pictures but in real life, it looks cheap and it's like a huge vhs player. ugly.

Involving idiots with time travel.

Getting an nvidia GPU. It's as shitty on Linux and the BSDs as everyone told me. I wonder why I didn't listen.

buying macbook pro wannabe instead of proper gaming laptop

If that was true you could just travel back and fix your damn shit

buying a desktop computer with mini atx + ryzen for gaming
stupidest shit ever
fuck gaymen

Buying a Mac
Buying an HTC smartphone
Using a system integrator for my first PC build

Buying a galaxy s4 during instead of an htc one

Being born black.

not saving my diskette readers bc they were "obsolete"

Going from oneplus one to zuk z2

at least you can never be cancelled

Right, I'll just get accused of rape and shot.

studying CS instead of math
> prohibition to share knowledge
> shaped by capitalism and business
> unelegant brute force shit bloat solutions
> companies and managers
> trannies, COCs and similar shit

getting memed into buying vega56

this

I once brought a Number Nine graphic card within a few days of Riva 128 launching.
I successfully returned it. Dodged a bullet there.

What's wrong with it?

Don't worry, race is a social construct. You can just say you're white.

Spending 12+ hours a day for the past 20 years in front of a computer monitor instead of doing literally anything else

Move to Europe then.
If I were black that would be my only priority and goal.
Your life will improve substantially.

Just wait meme.

The most valuable resource is time. Better to buy something now, use it and enjoy it, and then buy something again later, even if its too early. Waiting for months or even years using crappy hardware that you dont like is stupid.

>falling for the VR meme
>Falling for the 32gb ram meme
>Falling for the AMD meme
>Falling for the smart watch meme
>Falling for the Blackberry meme

shitty drivers and it's actually closer in performance to 1070 than to 2070 like the people here claimed to be

What's wrong with vr? I'm about to get an index

discovering this place in 2012

Toss up between rm -rf / and deleting system32.

Always do your own research. This board is kiddyland. I would never pay close to a grand on a GPU less than 500mm^2

I lost the password to 20 GB of categorized sad panda porn when stupidly put a key file on a zip drive without a backup and it got corrupted.

For instance, 2080 ti is twice the size of vanilla 1080. 2080ti is goliath, nearly 800mm^2

Acer Aspire 14 Potatobook

>Aspie potato
lol

I feel for you

You think it's bad now but you'll see, when it's gone you will feel even worse.
>thinking he will be "free" when that happens
It's just like covering your ears and eyes, that's all

Not switching to a MBP earlier.

Paying the blue tax for way too fucking long
