Reason:. It just works, and KDE believes in climate change.

Arch
KDE

I like fiddling with things and minimalism. I don't mind breaking shit and getting the latest packages quickly is neat.

Based KDE, saving the planet

-Linux Mint

Atm with Mint because I like good GUI (I really can do things sorely on command line, I just dont like it). But basically any Debian-based distro will do though.

Distro : Fedora
DE : Gnome
Age : 28

I'm a tranny and years of hormone replacement therapy has lowered my IQ to around 80 so I need a brainlet tablet DE that's slower than shit so my tranny brain can process it.

Disro: Gentoo
DE: Comfy XFCE
Age: 50
Reason: At this point using anything but Gentoo means that you should get what's coming to you and by that I mean systemd.

Gentoo + XFCE is a high tier combo.
I've tried to install it a couple of times but I fucked up the bootloader both times, I'll give it another shot tomorrow I guess.
Having patches which are automatically applied to new versions of the source is something I need in my life.

too stupid to install arch, and i like tiling window managers

Slackware
cwm

Why bother with a bootloader at all? I enabled EFIstub support in the kernel and installed rEFInd in EFI to support booting. Maximum comfy.

Sorry, I meant support dual booting.

Arch
KDE
24

I like newer packages and DE agnostic distros, plus debian sid is fucking shit

Sorry, I meant supporting dual booting with Windows.

manjaro

most of the distros frustrate me, while manjaro has perfect package management (especially with pamac). mate かわいいです

I might try this then, I don't even need to dual boot or anything.
But I might need to in the future, will just installing windows on a seperate drive let it work fine, and just let me select it from the bios if I ever need it?

>ctrl+f
why do you hate me?

Don't ask

Distro: same (s t a b l e and minimal)
DE: same (because it runs on anything)
age: same (because of my manufacturing date)

i played around with hipster DEs but i needed a solid working system out of the box for my work and i like bottom panel and winlike design so last week i replaced my main ssd with kubuntu and so far its nice

No need for explanations, people that have tried this know why.

Based
I tried installing KDE Debian (live ver) , I had to uninstall lots of redundant app

WTF I love KDE now. I'm going to switch to openSUSE with KDE as soon as I start putting together a new desktop.

>Gentoo
Might try out Guix once it matures and gets more packages.
>KDE Plasma
I've tried them all: tiling memes, GNOME, Xfce, floating standalone wms, and so on. KDE is not perfect, but it's the best GNU/Linux GUI as of now.

Nice desktop, mind posting pape?

All you need...

I hope my software choices won't still be influenced by some irrelevant shit its authors do once I'm 34.

It should work. I haven't tried it. The main issue I think would be doing kernel upgrades. Without a boot loader or a manager like refined I'm not sure how you would select which kernel to boot with.
W
Refined will do a directory scan to find bootable kernels. I have mine set up to choose between my latest kernel or my windows partition as default options but I can override to select an older kernel.
On gotcha with the efi kernel stub support. The is also an option to enable the efi framebuffer and disable all other frame buffer support.

These threads don't make sense if OP (or someone else) doesn't keep track and posts statistics. We need:
>Distro Age Group (40)

>Distro DE

My stats are:

Openbox (+ a few LXDE tools, so technically a stripped down LXDE)

Originally installed it because yewtube recommended an installation guide by a certain bald guy to me (never heard of him before). I liked how it made my old laptop responsive. I stayed with it because I like the ABS.

Distro: Debian stable

Not sure why I would use anything else. GNOME is cancer, but I live in the shell anyway.

Distro : Debian 10

Honestly, Ubuntu is better for production.
Debian 10 is outdated as fuck.
I would prefer using Ubuntu with Xfce, it's the same thing, but newer.
XFCE is the best DE, without XFCE i would go back to Windows I think
I dualboot with Windows 10 too, but I'm mainly on Debian

how does it feel being rich

distro: debian testing because i need the updated kernel for my chromebook. i prefer stable.

>KDE Neon

KDE's been the DE I always end up returning to, and I like Neon's combination of a stable base with bleeding-edge Plasma on top. Having said that, I've been seriously considering switching to GNOME after spending enough time with it; the keyboard-driven workflow works rather well for me.

I wouldn't know, I live in California.
