What advantages does it have over other distros?

up to date
really, well tested updates
every program will be in the repositories, rpmfusion or have an rpm

so you're basically saying it's a very stable distro?
cuz, uhh, idk i stumbled upon this just now randomly
dedoimedo.com/computers/fedora-28-kde.html
and uhh... yeah
not looking too good

You get to pretend like beta testing upstream crap for Red Hat without pay makes you part of something bigger than yourself. Unironically, if you're really good at this, you might get a job, but probably not. Pretty good chance that every other release will be something of a shit show.

Let's put it like this: Linus Torvalds thinks Debian is too hard to install and use, so he uses Fedora because it just werks.

but apparently it doesnt "just werk"?
according to that blog post at least

One spin from three versions ago had issues for that one person, yes.
Anyway, if you want to use KDE, you should just OpenSUSE or KDE Neon. It's a buggy piece of shit everywhere else.

new enough packages, stability, and sane defaults

if you use centos/rhel on your servers then coming over to fedora on your desktops is nice and comfy

>retarded review blog
>EOL version
>cuz idk uhh .. yeah
back to reddit.onions with your basedtalk.
go suck cocks over there and don't even put your face close here

lmaoing so hard @ u rn cuz ur such a fucking idiot
you're the one who should go back with your "big boy" insults
fedora 28 was not EOL at the time that blog post was written, you faggit
and why is that blog "retarded"? no arguments for that one? no? ok

not him but why are you talking like such a faggot? Maybe we can setup a day where I can interview you and get some DNA samples to study. If you can please post an email I’ll be happy to contact you.

i'm so sorry for providing a counter-argument to user, so incredibly sorry
how could i do such a thing?

>sane defaults
I wish it did, but GNOME is totally insane and all the other spins are full of garbage. Netinstall to a minimal KDE if you want sane defaults but it's more tedious than just installing Arch with the same software.

dia is so beautiful

>WAAAH GNOME is totally insane
learn the shortcuts retard.
it's like you can't exit vi

thats a fair point
it has sane defaults if you use gnome

Basically it works beautifully with mininum amount of tweak: It's stable, performant, well documented and without a retarded release cycle.

Been a Fedora user since it was Fedora Core, I can count the times that I've had distro-related issues on one hand.

If you sysadmin CentOS/RHEL servers it's strongly recommended for your desktop

If the rolling release is too fast for you, check out CentOS

it's an anime website really. if you're really looking for variety of topics i recommend reddit

It's much more secure, it has SELinux by default (configured so you don't have to disable it right after install) and uses a variety of security hardening flags for packaged binaries. Then there's the Silverblue variant, which has the most innovative package management system ever created. Atomic, immutable, unbreakable.

your reliance on a multibillion dollar company is explicit and qualified, so unlike other distros you are not under the illusion that you're independent
if you run Fedora then your workflow is not disrupted at all when you need to run RHEL or want to setup a CentOS server

that's why you use xfce and trust in gtk

>really, well tested updates
If you miss more than one and update later it has a higher than zero chance of completely fucking your install. Never again

Pedo weeb faggots btfo

It's chromiumos package management opened up to the plebs

Similar to coreOS by redhat which is forked from chromiumos

There is no reason to use KDE Neon over Kubuntu.

>It's chromiumos package management opened up to the plebs
Except less restrictive
>Similar to coreOS by redhat which is forked from chromiumos
Really? I thought chromiumos uses Portage, I've never heard of that in CoreOS.

engadget.com/2013/08/22/coreos-looks-to-grab-piece-of-the-server-market-using-chromeos/

It's called containeros now but yeah it's a fork of chromiumos. Same Google team that found the Spectre, meltdown, and others is behind chromeos, they know their stuff

Portage is used: chromium.org/chromium-os/packages/portage

Not sure if portage is used in containeros I think it's abstracted behind their tools
