Best FOSS software to encrypt single folders?
VC forces you to create a container and I don't have enough free storage for it
Best FOSS software to encrypt single folders?
nobody cares about your pizza
Folder encryption would be a feature, or not, of whatever file system you are using.
Anything else requires either a container of some sort, or whole disk encryption.
VC? What's that?
Just use the new systemd-homed or GPG or even LUKS.
its just for my work machine, I don't really need FBI protection just protection against random people
>just protection against random people
Still the same protection but maybe easier to unlock.
Well, just move your /home into a LUKS encrypted partition (in a loopback file if you can't define partitions on your own) for starters.
the issue is I can't create containers or partitions, I have a 80gb SSD on this machine as only drive so I need to encrypt already existing folders otherwise it would be done already
>work machine
Okay, then all you need to do is enable NTFS folder encryption in the properties for the folder in question.
This obviously requires that your user account have a password.
Its company managed so that doesn't work
i am so fucking lonely
Then ask your admin to enable it.
lucky
WHO IS SHE??
ENCFS
kde vaults
>VC
VeraCrypt
>ENCFS
this might work, I will try it
some paladins character
Why not? Is the loopback device and FUSE disabled?
Well, you still have GPG even then.
Ah, a successor to TrueCrypt. Well, that will operate about the same way.
Another option for a Windows user: Run a Linux VM, encrypt your data there, export it to Windows via a Samba share.
just create your own encryption software, it's not that hard.
