Anyone else really regret falling for the SSD meme?

>manufacturer's own 'Secure Erase' feature doesn't really work
>DBAN doesn't work
Your data will ALWAYS be on an SSD unless you throw it into a fucking Lord of the Rings volcano or some shit.

I didn't fall for that overpriced bullshit
>paying more just to have your system load five seconds faster
lmao

>Actually agree with this but they're not that overpriced anymore, i have found some 512 gb ssd cheaper than the equivalent in the shape of a HDD.

>thinks ti's just boot times
>thinks it's five seconds faster, not just five seconds
lmao

wow what a non-issue use full disk encryption and it doesn't matter if the data isn't actually deleted or not

>not using full disk encryption on any disk you ever use
pedestrian swine

>put it in the trash
>watch as it gets squashed come pick up day
>remember it's either getting burnt or dumped into a pile of waste no one will ever want to go on
what are you worrying about?

Can you just use DBAN if you are okay with "wearing out the drive" a little bit faster (if you were trying to get rid of it anyways that's not even a bad thing)?

>Your data will ALWAYS be on an SSD
Congratulations, your SSD has infinite storage.
you fucking retard

>what is luks?

Imagine if 200 years later some transhuman finds out we fapped to lolidom porn

this, holy shit what a retard. Delete this thread.

Enjoying my 5000 MB/s read/write.

Stay woke.

I held out for a long time but the fact of the matter is that all programs and operating systems now basically expect an SSD and will run like shit without one because they're constantly burning up the disk with random accesses. They are pretty cheap these days though.

>use m.2
>can easily destroy it beyond repair

>>paying more just to have your system load five seconds faster
and everything else you load after the system starts, including every background task your system loads causing lag

Just run a ramdisk and your OS from a bootable USB.

...

cant you physically destroy it with thermite?

>five seconds faster
Lol, show me a HDD that can boot windows within 5 seconds of an SSD

ATA Secure Erase doesn't work?
