Late millennial

I don't understand why people say 98 is a zoomer year. Nds was popular quite later

2017

2000-2011
After that, it became dog shit.

Unironically and hands down forever: WoW vanilla till 2008-9. Everything after that was decline not only of WoW but: Valve stopped making games at all, micro transaction shit and the change of the name “Expansion pack” to “DLC” was implemented, dumb shit like stablishing “souless cashcows”-type of games like Assassin’s Creed, NFS and Call of Duty (shit was never like this except for sport normie shit like Pro Evolution, FIFA or NBA 2K).
Also 2009 was the year I gave up on buying physical games for PC (except for Fallout 4, Dark Souls 3 and Doom in 2016)
On consoles Xbox360-Ps3 were the last consoles with their own games, you can play 99% of the market with a Switch + PC nowadays.

I unironically like this copypaste.

2017

beautiful post

Objective console generation rankings:

S-Tier
7th/8th/9th
A-Tier
5th/6th (tied)
B-Tier
4th
C-Tier
3rd
Mobile games
F-Tier
2nd
1st

this ignores PC gaming primarily because it's not as consistent over the years and often is basically entirely different (pre-5th gen PC and console games were almost impossible to compare to one another and there wasn't a lot of overlap in consumer base imo)

Ps2 era

all new games are trash and all old games are based and I'm the only one at my middle school who knows this because I'm older and wiser than everyone else

This, the Xbox 360 era was the best. Some of the best games came out then. Multiplayer was very enjoyable and people were still encouraged to meet in person to play games together. Since smart phone gaming has taken off and video games have become SJW mommy pweese hold my hand garbage I think it might take a while for video games to bounce back.

Wrong alice

my mom always said I am generation Y because Y does she even bother

Core millenial. Everyone still bought travel bags and multiplayer games were a staple. Sierra was kicking ass on PC. Before that was a buildup of appeal and technology, after that was a progressive increase of milking, depending on graphics, making everything proprietary, appeal to introvert whales, etc etc.

If you can't open King's Quest without the booklet or you don't know all the shortcuts in Jet Moto you missed it.

>I hope this isnt chrises blood

>brb committing SgdoukTi

Well I'd say it's getting better, since we can still play most any game we want with an emulator and PCs keep getting better. Also VR

For me it's definitely somewhere between core and late millennial

Ps2 and xbox era
The only games i enjoy now are rainbow 6 seige escape from tarcov and the crash remaster everything else is open world trash and not competitive enough for me

What you guys don't have phonss or something?

Mario Kart 64
Donkey Kong 64
Star Wars Battle Front 2
One Piece Grand Battle
Doom

Also the PS2 remains the ultimate champ to this day
