I am doing quite well, classes started today and went quite nicely!
I don't even know what 9BIPs is, lel. Very nice, it's always grand to re-enter education. Thinking about going into a trade school if I ever work up enough money :)

My car's aux port isn't working properly and it sucks because I have a long commute. It'll be fine but when I'll hit a bump or pothole (Lord knows there are plenty, I'm in New England), the left stereo channel will go out. It's so fucking annoying. A lot of the music I listen to has really good stereo mixes as well so I'm hesitant to switch my iPod over to mono, but I might if I have to. I'm kind of at the end of my rope at this point.

Yeah. If you're going to suggest the left-right channel test, I've tried it out already to test aux cables over the car stereo.
I honestly kanow nothing about cars, instead of that though just put on your YouTube mix on and put it next to you? As long as it doesnt distract your driving you kind of have a viable option without your radio..

they aren't too expensive and if you dont have room in your car you can just jam it into the center console

That could work but I like my iPod's controls. It's a shuffle and I just memorize the order of the songs on it. It's a lot easier to control while I'm driving. Thank you for your suggestion though.

I'll consider it, but I might try a couple other things before that. I already tried cleaning out the port with a q-tip and it worked fine for like a day, but now I'm trying to clean it with a q-tip AND a pipe cleaner, maybe that'll work even better. Also, I have tried a couple of aux cords but they were both old. Perhaps I'll just buy a straight up new aux cord and see if it has a better connection. But who knows, maybe this is all just magical thinking.

No, the aux port is right in the front. Occasionally, it'll start working in both channels again if I unplug and replug the end into the car's aux jack, but not usually. Also, I try not to go crazy with aux cable diagnostics while I'm driving. I circled where the aux cord connects on my car stereo in pic related.

I don't think it's the cable but you never know I suppose. I've tried 2 different cables (the one I normally use and an alternate) and they worked the same (both defective). However, while I've never had problems with those cables outside of use with the car stereo, they are both older cables and aux cables can wear out pretty quickly these days. Tbh I'm kind of desperate so I might buy a new aux cable just to test it out. You can never have enough aux cables anyway.
Alright then, sorry if that might not be your best experience - some days are obviously better than the others~
