I'm curious why you non-native English speaker learned this language it's probably one of the most annoying major language to learn besides Chinese
I'm curious why you non-native English speaker learned this language it's probably one of the most annoying major...
because it’s the de facto world language, whether you like it or not
were you forced at school to learn or did you self teach it
fuck anime

Furries should be shot on sight.
i don't care to prolong this conversation after you posted such a sinful thing so i'm hiding the thread now goodbye
What makes Chinese a world language if the only speakers are from China? Just because their country is a overpopulated communistic shithole it doesn't mean the 2/8 of mankind are relevant, no one said ever Indian is a rising world language besides having more inhabits than China already.
Japanese and South Korean are languages you want to learn from Asia.
Actually you just need Japanese because Koreans should understand English other than based and redpilled Japan.
I consider it a world language along with French, German, and Chinese. they are world languages because each of these countries have large finance industries along with the English speaking countries
If they forced children all around the world to learn English things would be a whole lot easier. Doesn't even have to be good English, we obviously wanna prevent cultures getting wiped out but in this day and age English is a necessity.
Because it pays to know it.
doesn't almost everyone in Sweden speak English. I went there with my Swedish friend and Most of the people their new English very well.
Internet and cartoons.
Little kids are prime language sponges.
Well weren't their native dubs of American cartoons. I think the age of American cartoons dominating are over.
Learned at school. Also knew German already so it wasn't annoying at all, on the contrary.
I consider only French, Spanish and English as world languages for reasonable reasons.
Russian, German and Japanese are for me the honorable extra languages you should learn if you wanna expand your horizon and want access on more intesting things like history or their literature.
owo
it was mandatory in school but i hated the way it was taught
i self teached and since I actually liked the language it was pretty easy to pick up
There are some now. But I don't remember having any when I was a kid.
The dubs here are pretty lackluster anyway as it's literally all done by the same people. All dubbed cartoons have the same voice actors leading to a lot of characters from different shows having the same voices.
But generally today's kids are just watching English youtube channels. This has become a problem over the years as a lot of kids are just using English instead of Icelandic, And they often don't stop. I personally was like this in grade school until I stopped being autistic, but now I attend the Technical College of Iceland and I still hear home-bred sub-human autist speaking English to each other.
So you knew a romantic and a Germanic language before tackling English It sounds like that would have been really easy.
Chinese is more relevant to finance than Japanese is. China is the largest or second largest economy in the world depending on how you measure it, so when it come to finance Chinese is probably the second most influential language.
^w^
do you like any other languages
yeah I here that English has a shit ton of shared or similar words with romance languages
when Icelandic people speak poor Icelandic and only English do they think that they are being cool and edgy or do they realize that they are being autistic
I know Korean a bit :3
그건 바보 야.
Well but everyone is currently slowly leaving China because they want to become greater on their own as largest economy and not want to use their workers for foreign slavery anymore.
China's place is well known as limited as it can be nowadays and so they are expanding to Australia and Africa. I see in the near future fast developing countries there under the control of the Chinese state.
yeah but I think i liked it because i was exposed to it from a very young age through TV and the internet
also learned French, which is way more similar to Romanian and absolutely hated it
felt like killing myself in every French class
전 kpop 을 좋아해요
I see china is an emerging power without being put into check they will develop into a world super power like the soviet union.
French I think is an even more arbitrary and frustrating language than English is that's not to say English isn't frustrating either.
It's mostly just that they indulge so heavily in solely English media that they don't feel comfortable speaking their own native tongue.
They really just suck at their mother tongue.
There was for instance this kid I knew. His dad was Icelandic and his mom Chinese. And the funny thing is this. A lot of people will use what we call "slettur" which translates to spills as in you spill in foreign words into your sentence and this is common among almost everyone. But this kid was basically doing the reverse and spilling occasionally Icelandic words into his English sentences when I would speak to him in Icelandic. And the really funny part was that you'd think his lineage would mean he'd speak Icelandic and Chinese but actually he speaks very poor Icelandic and Chinese and only speaks English while studying Japanese.
What were his parents trying to do make sure that the kid never even learned one language.
But American-English is the easiest foreign language, compared with German, Russian, French or even English. And we are the only country where American is taught instead of English.
Why we learn American is that America is the super power in this era. Historically we changed the prime foreign language from Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, French/English to American in accordance with era.
I doubt they didn't try. It's just that internet and media has come to have more influence over youth then there parent's in many cases. And it didn't help that he became a total weeb because of it
what weird is that japan looked towards England before the war, but after being occupied by the US the country started to follow a US model. Also are you hyped that shizo abe might try and get the pacifist constitution repealed so Japan can lay the smack down on China.
It's not only english though I had to make sure my little nephews aren't watching mexican youtube when I look after them.
I wish English was still less spoken than French so the chances of getting a job would be higher than they are to this day where English is spoken everywhere but in third world countries and italy
it always fascinated me how you people can learn thousands of those crazy chinese characters
You only say you like French because Italians have an easy time of learning that shitty frog tongue since English is a rape baby of the major western European language families it is no surprise that it's used as a lingua franca
I'm pretty sure they are constantly learning kanji throughout their schooling
You dont find anything from internet otherwise
French is an hassle compared to Spanish if you want to know the truth. The spelling rules and the absurd amount of irregular verbs is debilitating.
Why is it wired? We have been going toward the super power always so far and in the future also. This is the simplest way I think. If you would be occupied by mars-human, you would learn mars language as well.
Spanish internet is pretty large and the Chinese intranet is also very large.
yeah when I tried to learn French. I gave up and learned Spanish. I also hear it's pretty easy for the Italians to understand Spanish but not the other way around.
I guess your right in Japanese history they always try and take the best ideas from other countries and apply to their own country. Your kanji system was taken from Chinese and after the Meiji restoration japan took on a western form of parliamentary democracy.
I think it works both ways if you have slightly some memory to learn the differences and the vocabulary
Because we have no other way other than remember them. While the difference is that we must learn symbols, but you must learn spelling, so extent of how shit doesn't differ so much.
china sucks and english isnt that cool to learn
>If you would be occupied by mars-human, stopping you right there, buddy.
i messed up my post, and the humor would be lost if I tried to fix it. So just ignore me everyone. Have a wonderful weekend :)
Because English is the most based of languages and they know it.
most based on other languages
russian is based on mongolian
I read it in a bo0k once.
it has some greek and swedish roots, not sure if mongols had any impact on it
