I agree with you partially OP. Western society has become sickened with vanity and acts of hedonism. This has especially affected European cultures in the Western sphere due to a variety of different mediums. You could blame the individual for not being stronger than the forces that compel him. You could blame hyper individualism for breaking groups of people into every type of catetory with particular interests imaginable. You could even blame previous generations for not raising their children well enough to have the tools to deal with it. It is all of these factors, and more, which has caused the downfall of men. And because the men suffer, so do the women. These are the effects of 5th generational warfare being waged before our very eyes. It almost makes you feel as if you were watching a movie, doesn't it? Anyways, don't lose hope in your fellow man or allow yourself to become jaded by others from their actions. Set the standard of what's right, honorable, and just. Those who aren't able to follow might be left behind or fall. If someone falls, it's always a good idea to help them back up. But you don't have to. Everything you do is up to you. If you want what is right and best, you have to make it happen for yourself and those you care about most. Don't become gay with new age hippie bullshit, but don't become so cynical that people won't see the point in trying their best around you.
