Yep, its the actual correct term since Earth is kinda like a sphere but a bit more compact on the south and north poles. Not everything that is round is a perfect sphere, it would be very impressive if we were in one

Hey if we build an actual toroid (donut shaped) space station and rotate it, it would have the same gravity field as earth, but to all sides (we would need to live inside it) and its possible to have only good winds on a toroid surface
If we built a spherical space station, we would need to have either no wind at all or at least one 0-wind point, which would be the center of a hurricane, all of this is guaratneed by the hairy ball theorem, one of my favorite theorems!
