Reach for the skies

If you like Minecraft you might find some solace in Stardew Valley. It's very straightforward and serene

You don't enjoy playing or doing scary games? How so? Give it a chance. Dark Souls, Resident Evil, Dead Space, etc. Another recommendation would be Call of Duty, however, its quite boring and full with children's.

Scary things aren't very comfy desu

maybe Grim Dawn then?

Play Fallen London

N-no u!

Then maybe some of the other sim games. I haven't played them myself but there's plenty to choose from, factorio, prison simulator, recettear, project highrise, subnautica, planet coaster, ...

You can still build big stuff, fight the wither, and explore the end dimension

cube world

Absolutely try Terraria - early game is comfy as heck, especially on multiplayer.
The game is getting major updates, even after you bought it nearly a decade ago. Developer team are real sweathearts and there's enough content to keep you occupied for at least 100 hours if you know your shtick and won't spent another one hundred not knowing what to do, what you can and whatnot.
Plus there are mods - countless of mods, adding to the game as much as Factorio mods can add.
If you get to experience at least one major mod like Calamity
calamitymod.gamepedia.com/Calamity_Mod_Wiki
or Thorium
thoriummod.gamepedia.com/Thorium_Mod_Wiki
that's one heck of an adventure.

The game is often on a discount on Steam, so there should be no problem with getting it, even if you lack in funds.

Pic related - our pre-hardmode Jow Forums Terraria server that died out pretty fast.

Kenshi is also a great option.

Other titles:
>Factorio
>Elona RPG
>Rimworld

And if you want a real unlimited sandbox experience, you can always delve into Dwarf Fortress.

I played Factorio and a bit of Elona myself, but yeah - his videos often inspire me to lookout gameplays on YouTube.
..which doesn't mean those aren't good games.
