Christchurch has turned into a pretty crappy and rundown place since the 2011 earthquake. I went down there in 2015 to visit my brother and every road had at least a few potholes. There were also a lot of gaps between buildings, where other buildings obviously used to be which would have been destroyed in that earthquake. Basically it just seemed quite derelict.
