I forgot, I posted the entire build in a thread somewhere, modified stls and all. the only expensive part is the duet, although the resale value on that is still a pretty good.

oh yeah, i think I remember seeing 3d printers for like 2 or 300 dollars at microcenter. I had always assumed something like that would be over a thousand.

I fucking hate arduino and most of the cheapo 3d printers, the hardware is good, but the silicon is some of the shottyist race to the bottom pieces of crap.
if I where to get a printer now, I'd probably get a kit for cheap parts, replace the bearings, power supply, and main board and keep a budget of 500 (600 with accessories and filament) for the parts.
its an easy way of avoiding the prusa tax, while getting a debatably better board (software^2 -backlash= quality) for 200 dollars less.

you can buy a quality official mech daki for 30-60 bucks, it shouldn't be twice that just for bundling a fucking art book. I'm allowed to complain with a markup that high, for premiums like that we get student loans and med insurance round' here.
