tfw taxinda ardern is a socialist who tried to implement a capital gains tax recently, who hasn't kept up to her promise of getting new houses built to mitigate the worsening housing crisis here and who used taxpayers money to buy guns from gun owners after outlawing them because they knew people wouldn't surrender them otherwise even though tens of thousands of people here live in conditions that could be described as poverty like in third-world countries because our economy is stagnating and the gap between the lower and middle class is quite large. She is also now trying to pass legislation that would broaden what can be classified as hate speech. Every media outlet here gives her endless praise and any public criticism of her is seen as either sexist or uncalled for.

All of the media outlets here mainly report on events from overseas that are about positive things, unless it's something really huge that lots of people are already talking about on social media, or if it's something that involves a clearly identifiable scapegoat for the media to encourage people to direct their hate at. When they report about what's going on inside the country, it's usually either about the positive things that are happening or about something really trivial. There's no discussion about all the problems this country has. They just keep implying that everything's all good thanks to taxinda and that she can't be praised enough.
