Unions shut down vital infrastructure to extort concession from the government at the expense of everybody else.
Unions are one step behind communism in creating an environment where the individual can't reap the benefits of his own sweat and effort.
Unions are as corrupt as politics without the oversight and will resort to bullying and mafia tactics to enforce their acceptance by workers and the compliance of means of production holders.

There's zero reason to be part of a union in France considering how powerful they are. Unions BY DEFAULT get a seat in companies with over 50 employees, making them part of the decision making process. So why be part of a union if the union gets a say anyway? You might as well, like the OP's advertisement says, spend that money on a vidya system instead.

Now Macron wants to undo that so everybody is fucking rioting. Because, of course, it's stupid to only give unions power propotionate to their membership.

Unions can function as pretty decent collective bargaining bodies that compensate for the average worker's lack of knowledge of the market. They're fine as long as they're not financed/supported by the government.

Here in Austria unions make yearly deals for minimum standards and you'll reap the benefits even if you're not a member. You also get other benefits like a substitution for lost pay when on strike or a good access to labor law experts though and membership fees are capped at 23 euros per month.
