Pseudo-intellectual rambling time.
Let’s consider an intersection:
Now the obvious choices are “go forward, go left, go right, go back”
But some not-so-obvious choices are choices such as
>stay still and wait for something to happen
>go off the road in any direction
>go left and then turn right and walk on the side of the road
>wait for a few minutes, eat a meal, then proceed
A rule of parallel realities is there are infinite parallel realities to reflect the infinite number of choices.
In fact, with each choice, you spawn x amount of parallel realities based on the number of possible choices - obvious and subtle - each with an infinite amount of possible endings.
For example, going forward may end in a lethal ambush, or going left may result in you finding treasure, or going right may have an uneventful journey.
If you can imagine it, there’s a reality for it. But the odds of it being your reality are astronomically against, the odds against decreasing based on the “parallelness” of it, the realism of it, how close it is to your reality.
You can “navigate” the realities based on the choices you make in the present after analyzing its impact on the future.
So how to digest all of this? You can examine your life and imagine alternate realities where your life is at the zenith of joy based on positive choices you made or you can imagine alternate realities where your life is literal hell on earth based on intentionally harmful choices you made.
Me? No matter how bad things may seem, I remind myself it can be a lot worse, and that helps me be optimistic because things really aren’t that bad; plus they can become much better.
