Russian with this cutie

so I am currently putting forth an effort in finally learning russian, for the most part this seems pretty easy to catch on to, aside from learning from basic youtube videos, this lady is cute in how easily distracted and her humor being a bit off, an awkward kinda silly.

any tips in learning this language
>inb4 learn Albanian

I found this old book on arabic that I've been following for a little while

judging from the characters in that language, it feels like it would be one hell of a stretch from english. is there any recommended languages that you would have to start beforehand?

who is this roastie?

>all purple id's
cursed thread

I'm still wrapping my head around the alphabet but I'm not finding it especially difficult. The lack of written vowels for the most part is a blessing and a curse
>is there any recommended languages that you would have to start beforehand?
I only know English and I can't think of any languages that could really be used as a stepping stone

a clumsy/lazy russian cutie that is going to teach me basic russian.

...

What do you mean?

got anything better, only soo much to work with.

>got anything better
just don't eat shit

does not really give much to work with bud, i will avoid all fecal matter from entering my mouth. if you mean in the case of learning from a lame source such as youtube, have to start somewhere to get a basic understanding in how all this works, i am sure once i can comprehend reading it and what the words mean when hearing them, i can pick up from speaking in russian with other russians. also helps to have a few friends fluent in the language to pick on my and how awful i will sound before getting this down.

go to Russian imageboards

Lemme know if u need any help with that, arabic can be a bitch to learn

That ة at the end of feminine words, I'm unsure on when you actually pronounce it and how it's pronounced

polish

im learning russian too
these youtube videos are pretty helpful ig but you should check out this book called "the new penguin russian course" or something, you can get it for free on piratebay. Everything is really well explained, even pronounciation and on every word you can see which letter has to be stressed. Other than that i just use duolingo and talk to russians on the internet to practice. Also whenever you learn a new word you should go to google translate or ask a russian friend to hear what it sounds like and practice pronouncing it until you get it right. It will help you a lot in the long run. Ig i do have a pretty big advantage since i already speak a slavic language but im sure its not impossible for americans.

Its usually pronounced as the same word but with an added a vowel at the end, though in some cases it is different.
In arabic objects have gender, unlike english.
E.g chair is kursi which is masculine
Car is sayyara which is feminine
Notice the a at the end thats the ة

>Notice the a at the end thats the ة
Google translate tells me that sayyara is pronounced with a "tun" sound at the end. Can I safely ignore that for now?

that's formal arabic which no one uses. id say yeah ignore it, it simply added a ضمة (google it, its basically a -tun at the end of words that usually end with the ة). its pretty pedantic though and you can safely ignore it

>you can safely ignore it
Thanks. This thing was giving me so much trouble. One more question, what dialect should I really pursue?

honestly, go with the one you're most comfortable with. formal arabic is understood by all arabs, and there is modernized version called modern formal arabic. if you pursue a specific dialect, arabs in some part may not understand some of the words but in general we all understand each other somehow. but everyone understands formal arabic perfectly if you think you'll be talking with people with a lot of different dialects

portuguese

Appreciate the advice. I'll probably finish the book and then branch out to a specific dialect. You're the first who's helped me with this btw

No problem, im sure lots of people around here can help. Even we struggle with this language lol

"how can you have pudding if you dont eat your meat!"
this is why i am learning russian. dont like standing out as an english poster, plus would like to interact with more of these boards native posters,
>the new penguin russian course

And what board are you going to go to?

should be easy to find, considering there has not been english posters there in almost 2 years, left from that site though elsewhere. russian imageboards are very branched out, I for the most part do not venture out of the board where i speak with a friend. but have hopped around from dobro, 02, now elswhere. I would like to lurk these places without having to rely on translation tools. also Cyrillic captcha is a pain to just copy/paste. rather be able to type it off my own keyboard.

>is a pain to just copy/paste. rather be able to type it off my own keyboard.
we have your keyboard standards, so if you decide to learn our layout, you will be like us

Actually in the neck of time, I was in need of a new keyboard, so I actually ordered one, will make it all the more easier to switch back and fourth, unlike notes that I have on the keys of my laptop.

Is there no laser engraving in America?

well, ofcourse. however my current keyboard is not in the best of shape, and needed a replacement anyway, also having one with characters already in place, I feel I would be more driven to keep practicing.
