And with movies such as Avengers: Infinity War / Endgame, we are being prepped to perceive any such cosmic power as tyrannical (and defeatable). We are being prepped to follow our survival instincts, as opposed to our faith and reason (yes, the two go hand in hand, ironically).
There will only ever be one "true" disclosure, the first and final disclosure. The disclosure of Christ himself and his imminent destruction of the world and salvation of his faithful. Anything or anyone that comes before this claiming to have the truth, know the truth, to have the means to save you or whatever else, is a liar and a thief and is seeking to deny you salvation.
The slate must be wiped clean as the problem of sin is so intertwined with the world as it is that there is no other option but to create a new world.
A couple of examples of the inversion of Christ in recent popular culture are Apocalypse from the X-Men movie series and Thanos from the MCU. Both of these characters had a single goal, to wipe the slate clean, to create a better world from the ashes of the old. And both were opposed by superpowered worldly saviours (comparative with fallen angels perhaps?).

That's exactly what he did. Christ was God in human form. And when he returns once again he will again be in human form, albeit less human and more divine than we currently are as he has a new body and has had a new body ever since his death.
The reason the jews killed Christ was because he wasn't their saviour in their eyes. They were waiting for a political saviour who would rally them up and have them take arms up against the roman empire in an effort to liberate them from their oppression. He did none of these things as this was never his intention nor his purpose, his purpose and intention was to save them from sin itself. Everything else was and still is secondary. In Revelation, it's said Jesus wouldn't literally destroy the earth, it meant he'd destroy the society, and the entire NT says nothing about Jesus beaming up everybody into the mothership. "Kingdom of Heaven" = a new creation on earth, with all our boundaries the same as before the fall. "Sheol" or what's usually translated as hell is literally Hades in Greek mythology, where everybody lives as shades, it's the lake of fire that is hell of Gehenna, named after the place where the kings of Judea used to sacrifice to Moloch.
