If ETH is replaced by NEO as the go to smartcontracts platform, LINK will able to adapt.

besides all the other answers, one more important thing to consider is that ETH is never going to have a proprietary oracle service as they wont actually add any utilities to the platform. its on the documentation somewhere, i could get it if you'd like

thoeretically there could be an "OMG" or "plasma" that isnt through ETH but is designed for ETH.

plasma is a scaling solution though, OMG builds a platform on top of that. just as LINK builds a platform on top of ETH to provide an oracle service. ETH will not do any of these things themselves
