My friend proposed to me that he do me a favor and introduce me to a few tech investors that he knew, since I had done a personal favor to my friend (long story) and he wanted to repay me.
One of the people he introduced me to was Brock Pierce

I didn't know anything about Brock Pierce before my mutual friend mentioned him, except that he was a controversial figure in the crytpocurrency community. I never saw any of the movies he was in, or things like that. I knew about the allegations that were made against him, but I considered them to be bullshit allegations fabricated by business enemies in an effort to malign his name. I now know those allegations were probably true, based on what I know now of Brock Pierce.
I first met Brock Pierce in person in Santa Monica. My friend had managed to get me a meeting with Brock, after I spoke with Brock on the phone a few times. The first time to introduce who I was and what my company did, and the second time to schedule a meeting with him. He proposed to me that we have a meeting at 6:30pm at a ritzy Santa Monica restaurant. I don't go to restaurants like that, but how could I turn it down? It was Brock Pierce, after all. So I agreed to the meeting

I remember when I met Brock Pierce at the restaurant that he was, by far, the weirdest fucking person I had ever met. and I've met some weird fucking people in my life.
Here we were in a fancy restaurant, and yet here was this guy wearing a ridiculous hat that looked like something out of the Indiana Jones movie. I thought that I was looking at the wrong person at first.

I saw Brock Pierce at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
