I just want to tell you that germany, norway and france shouldn't be talking about keeping a forest safe when they don't even have a forest to start with.
The amazonian rainforest doesn't "belong to humanity", it belongs (mostly) to Brazil and brazilians are the ones that will extract resources from it and also keep it alive.
They also should keep their money to build their own forest instead of trying to grab a piece of other countries.
but why use it for short term industrialization and lucrativeness when brazils gonna stay a shithole anyway

These same eco-weenies whining about rain forests also tend to buy 'muh organic' produce. Organic farming makes less food per acre than modern farming. It's very inefficient and outdated, and drives more demand for farmland. Some farmland is expanding into rainforests to help meet the food demands of the world.
