Monero is basically a step above chuckecheese tokens. If they become banned they will only be used for anything in the black market and once the money is in there you can't withdraw it to legal use money.

without privacy coins there is no democracy. i.e. the government attempted to prevent people donating to wikileaks. Monero would allow you to anonymously do so. Therefore it MUST be allowed to exist.
