must be nice being rich

sure. go and make a hit record. Tell us how easy it is user

saw this video too the guy has a 32M net worth and I've never even heard of him lmfao

looked up his songs and they're all ass-tier too, but can't really complain since, you know, Avril Lavigne was a thing

Alot of things in life are easy user but that doesn't make it profitable to everyone who makes an attempt at it

real modest of this guy

britney spears is good singer and i love her. i am 25 year old male and i listen to britney spears everytime i jerk off and watch shemale porn.

plus he's like "uhhh yeah im gonna build a studio someday haha in the mean time keep listening to my shitty beats i made on my macbook air"

I actually know a couple big DJs. One is touring EDC and the like, another produced a billboard hit for XXXTentacion. It's really not that hard, you just have to be a massive douchebag and already rich enough to support yourself. It's basically the only way to be a respected millenial NEET, that's for sure.

I also like the part where he's like "this house was built around [that tree in the pic]" as if it's like integral to the design of the house when the tree is like 1 millionth the size of the house lmfao if I owned that shit I'd burn that piece of shit down ya know lmfao

If Pauly D became a successful DJ, then no, nothing is easier than becoming a DJ.

ex-music industry here. first of all, succeeding as a DJ has nothing to do really with the music you make, nor how well you make it (at least once you've hit a certain level of technical competence). literally nobody makes good music in the EDM scene, including Zedd. it's all total garbage that you can throw together in Ableton in a few days if you have half-decent production skills. it's all about how willing you are to allow yourself to become Play-doh in the hands of your masters. if you're essentially retarded, crazy, or drugged out enough that your manager and agency can manipulate you to whatever end they want, you'll crush it.

fwiw, this is part of why bands don't really "make it" anymore and DJs do (aside from the obvious cost savings). with a band, you've got a much higher chance that one of the dudes won't be a total brainlet and will notice that the agency/manager is either fucking him over financially or manipulating him to their own ends.

It's insane how much money some of these DJs make. I might see ZEDD play at EDC Las Vegas. Thanks for posting this.

dam, this is what i was looking for. Thank You!

wait anons I don't get it if Zedd is being manipulated how can he be worth 32M dollars?

also If it is so easy to DJ where do I sign up to sell my soul in exchange for $ / fame?

t. musically competent, played guitar / sax / piano + can do vocals (haven't spent any time DJing tho, + have an actual career)

Worth it to learn music production / DJing?

thanks in advance xoxo

Always remember: the more formulaic, the more profitable.

If you're actually serious about it, develop a style over a month before your first public release, then wait for some channel on youtube to start posting your shitty formulaic EDM tracks because they too have worked out the system.

Optional: find a label with good reach and sell your soul to the guys with the big houses.

Also optional: Find some way to get one of your songs into a "viral video" or something.

After that just do what you want pretty much.

because (((they))) made /way/ more off of him. that's essentially how they keep it going. he gets money (albeit only a fraction of the actual revenue he created, obviously), they get a pawn they can milk forever.

if you want to learn EDM production, just torrent a copy of Ableton and read a bunch of tutorials online about how to use compressor plugins. that's literally the only thing you need to do. once you're adept with that, learn to sculpt bass frequencies (EQ + compression + gating + limiting). see you at $32 million, buddy... just be prepared to lose your soul and self-respect ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

love u anons thanks for the advice

Im pretty soulless atm so any deals I manage to make wrt my soul will basically be me getting something for nothing so it's alllllllll goooooooood

peace

he had to suck a few cocks to get where he is today. casting couch is no different in the music biz than it is in hollywood.

thank you sir, i did lol
