What I mean is that You need time to ripen and mature. Time alone is not enough, you need to do your part as well. Constant thinking is a good start.
I graduated from an university as a major in polymer chemistry. My minor was in physics department, two modules in fine electronics and electric materials

I still can calculate (and mix) a proper encapsulating epoxy resin with a catalyst for a motherboard (been there done that).
However my main job is all about fluent relations with teams at my destinations.

That's what Industrial Services is all about. Immediate response to call, complete cooperation with teams, total ability to solve sudden problems at hand. Both technological and cultural issues.
