Been wondering where you went. Happy Cirno Day, /diy/!

youtube.com/watch?v=qYS0EeaAUMw

do you still have the pirate guy?

I have one of those pole bird woodpeckers too!

I'm still around
currently taking ochem

yes, his feet broke, but still using the silk filament (so next filament switch ill reprint), I love this stuff, bought some green brass color

cool

cirno might be printed today, if cart guy can send the latest blend files, some new renders I saw in another thread has a higher poly model than what I got right now

That's great! Hope you enjoy this special day with the rest of Jow Forums!

I almost forgot to post on Cirno Day !

That would have been awful.

Looking good. You been fiddling around with your selection of plastic colors lately?

yeh, I like the blue, but I have some nice black, some flexibles, and a brassy green plastic I wanna try out. I have a bit too much flex filament (2kg + 200g transparent tpu) so I might make something big with that if I can tune it correctly

Attached: 1537591471811.png (674x605, 940K)

Hmmm, I wonder if there's some way to bake it in order to smoothen the relief?

oh, I have a new tube for the bowden setup so retractions and lin advance compensations need to be reduced. corners and high speed (wide, open areas) areas are being over/under-extruded in software so 15 min speed prints are ugly right now. (although if I printed that in vase mode it wouldn't have the stringing and retraction problems)

Ah. If you have no pressing need to use the machine, I think longer prints are viable. It's not like Jow Forums is roaring with activity.

yeh, I could print a giant 4 foot tall BJD girl right now...

that might be a perfect use for the flexable filament on the joints...

That's a shame, at least the model looks good!

Attached: awooo.jpg (1000x1000, 460K)

eh, after phys I could reprint, I don't want to keep this model, it doesn't function as a litho and even after using a lighter for stringing it looks bad, small enough to make a better version and use it to tune the new settings.

a lot better now

Looking good.

Splendid.

Something I'd like to see one day is army man-scale touhous.

I've made a few "army man scale" ones, all my prints for /m3s/ are ~50 mm, what size is an army man, my cousins didn't keep theirs

I mean really what army man scale is, 25 mm/m? 1 inch per yard? I dont know. I just keep my models around Warhammer scale so I know I could paint them if I wanted to

youtube.com/watch?v=Wd5dm_deGJQ

Oh, you've started painting any?

I've primed 3 models and painted one larger cirno-like model other than the tank. my next painting project is the nanachi, since the colors are pretty simple and can be blended.

Oh. Got any pictures of the painted models?

in the picture, there's the painted cirno and the final nanachi print, I can bring out the mini tank photos, but it’s on a coffee table behind some Lego boxes, built those two Apollo kits and a Disney castle, so the boxes are still over there and in the way.

my painted liru models arn't for Jow Forums and I wont show them here since I was already threatened to be sued a couple years ago. they are easy to find tho.
my internet is on the fucking fritz again, always happens this time of the year, removed pic of tank, but its in the archives and I hope someone else will post.

...

Ah.

bumping cirnoid thread

took a trip down memory lane in photos to find the old mini tank, forgot how good the old blue tank looked like

not that the cirno tank top looks bad

boat army and cube family from the first roll of yellow filament

and pre /m3s/ mask, right when I first rebuilt the printer over two years ago, before that where some projects like the סld public liru and quite a few un photographed white PLA models from the secret סld printer.
now I'm printing brain scans and viruses for nerds and relatives when you dont see any /m3s/ threads.

Neat. You do university work?

not this semester, transferred. but did assembly and printing for some professors so they could get some funding for the makerspace. prosthetic hands, brain scans, bones, academic paperweight sort of stuff. I was supposed to get paid on the side for it. didnt, despite the fact that the makerspace itself charges for prints (and has shittier printers) and I had to assemble a prosthetic arm by myself.
was a better experience than the internship tho. They got their article in the local paper, featured their stuff and got the new machine they wanted.
I also have some professional-level models of viruses I printed a couple of years back that finally got into an article, I posted pics on that one before.

why does the big light blue cirno look so smooth compared to the others?

Higher-res print?

that big cirno is painted
the higher resolution ones are more matte and smooth when printed due to the more diffuse scattering of smaller layers (unless they use silk filament)

Attached: 1552628622357.jpg (1096x329, 17K)

i wanted to bump with this :(

That looks hella dangerous!

not really

Any new materials to play with?

I'm looking into tanks to print, if you have suggestions, please give!
(suggest a few here) myminifactory.com/users/Mbergman

pic related is an articulated, big tank I want to do after the green filament has been tuned

cute boats, the ultimate army of death!

Got any models for the M3 Lee?

Attached: Lee_Front.jpg (640x491, 41K)

I see it in pack 3 but I cant find it

Attached: 1538192742126.png (229x183, 102K)

mocked up a printable model, should somewhat work, although there is some parts that I wanna modify to make it easier to print
the uploader of the MMF archive didnt upload pack 3, it's just another pack 2 with the same models, although there is an early m4 with the unibody design tho

Attached: 1538192742126.png (787x735, 335K)

I'm starting to become a pro at this making printable process

Attached: IMG_20190924_083627_compress94.jpg (4608x3456, 1.66M)

The print was just a test, but it came out so well I might just publicize the current high poly ver
