I am very skeptical of this. I totally understand the concept of increased value via scarcity and demand, but technologically speaking BTC is a first-gen coin.
It has high fees, slow processing times, and the ever-looming threat of the jewish decentralized lightmeme network. It is terrible for everyday use as money. I could be wrong, but I don't think bitcoin has what it takes to make the next step(s) to 100k, ever.
And to be honest, that's not a bad thing. Bitcoin's eventual demise will end the infuriating link between BTC and the rest of the market. It is annoying that everything follows BTC in terms of value and market fluctuations, and it needs to end for cryptocurrency's adoption to increase in a meaningful way.
