Let the miners decide how big they want blocks to get. You make it sound like they will just mine a 1tb block and no one will be able to download it. If miners mined a block too big for the rest of the network to handle in a timely manner, they'd be orphaned and lose money.
Learn the incentive system behind Bitcoin before you spout your ignorance.
Not to say 1tb blocks will never happen, but that requires global adoption, which takes time. Look up Moore's Law if you think it'll be impossible in the future.
Also note it takes adoption. Not merchants abandoning it, like they do with BTC.
