and then there's actually fairly good corporations with traditions going back to the 17th-19th centuries, like Minas Gerais's PMMG, Santa Catarina's PMSC, Paraná's PMPR and São Paulo's PMESP, which is both the biggest police force on Brazil and technically the 3rd largest armed force by manpower on Latin America.
