>23 year old >Cashed out 500k$, bought a flat for 150k$, left with 350k$ >Considering spending 50k$ on a new Porsche Cayman
Is it really that stupid considering that I can sell this car for 40k$ in a few years? I know you guys are shitting on everyone who isn't frugal - I'd never buy a supercar like a lambo no matter how much money I had, but Porsches don't depreciate in value as quickly. If I take care of this car I can get 2-4 years of driving a Porsche for 10k$+maintenance costs, which doesn't seem that terrible considering that I don't have anything other to look forward in life.
Porsche is normie tier. Get an s2k, shove a fat tarbo in it and blow lambos away for less than 30k
Grayson Collins
As a guy who owns an exotic I can honestly say that buying a brand new and expensive car with your net worth isn't the wisest choice you can make... At first sure, youll love your new car and love the attention but you can drive a literal mclaren and after a couple of months the excitement will wear out. I bought a C7 and after two months I wanted to sell it. Just rent one using turo on the weekends if youre really pressed for one, and invest your money in something, I assume you're from Europe (UK?)
Angel Campbell
This desu but keep the s2k stock like a smart person
dont do this OP you will look like a poorfag. what do girls know about cars? brands Porsche > supped up nip car
Ryder Scott
if you can't buy 10 of them you can't afford 1 of them
Parker Bennett
>buying a car to impress coalburners Fuckoff my chans normalnigger
Jaxson Harris
If I ever come to the point where I can cash out 200k+, I'm buying myself an older, used Cayman 2.7. They go for like €20k-€30k here. I don't think I would spend 50k on a car at this age (I'm 22), but that's also because I won't be driving it a lot. Public transport here is superb and the distances not that far. It might be a different story for you, being in the States.
Dylan Fisher
Something like a WRX or a Honda Civic. You’re also likely to bank on it cuz people tend to feature these in movies or pop music, and the price can shoot up sometimes.
My buddy had a 911 that he sold and he missed it so much he ended up rebuying it
Joshua King
Dude if it makes you happy and makes you fell like a boss to drive then do it
Lincoln Hernandez
>cayman
you know that's the porsche for women
Kayden Moore
A car is not an investment. It is a toy.
But toys are fun. Get the fucking car and have fun m8. #YOLO
Lincoln Collins
>Cayman Lmao, if you're gonna buy a shit brand car, at least buy a non-queer one.
Samuel Young
>gayman
Tyler Sanders
buying one(of whatever fancy car) should be like buying a hot dog ;^)
Evan Walker
Do it faggot, ofcourse it's waste of money but you will enjoy it and you can always sell with small loss if you regret it.
Gabriel Hall
The thing you have to consider is that you may _never_ have another payday like this. Do a calculation, 50k in dividends stocks or ETFs at 4-5% per year, reinvest profits, that's hundreds of thousands extra in 20 years. You only want these toys until you have them.
William Gray
Think you're gonna have to turn your penis in to the nearest cuck registry office if you're a grown man getting a Porsche
Liam Brooks
who /f type/ here? I can afford it but it'll take a big chunk of my gains so I'm putting it off for now...
Cayman GT4, do it right. Will appreciate at some point like all Porsches do. Bonus if you do your own basic maintenance, plus some track time.
Kevin Price
if your car is worth a third of your flat you're doing it wrong. you should spend way more on the place you call home than your car t. own a $3mil house and drive a $30k bmw
Austin Myers
Personally I'd reinvest that money but do whatever you want. Why they fuck do you care what biz thinks about your purchases?
Carter Davis
>cashed out >spent it all >now broke What should I buy biz shill me your best I fucked myself over yet, again.
Xavier Ramirez
You bought the flat? Go for the porsche. About 30% of income normally goes to rent, if you already have a place, then go ahead and treat yourself.
Sebastian White
TREAT YO SELF
Owen Collins
yes op do it you’ll still have 300k left and you can invest most of it, maybe leave a couple grand for travel
Justin Robinson
>Buying a gayman
Wise decision. However keep that golden engine stock. Its too pure for this rotten world. >tfw when I test drove s2k
Buy a slightly used former lease car. 1-2 years old lease return will be in excellent condition and save you many many thousands of dollars off new sticker price. Also cars really aren't good investments and I don't recommend purchasing with an eye to future resale value. It's better to get something with a reputation for mechanical durability and relatively inexpensive average annual repair cost.
If i had 350k burning a whole in my wallet I would use 150K of it to buy a second flat and rent it out. Put remainder in to safe investments.
Lucas Lopez
You're a fraud owning a Porsche but living in a 150k flat.
Hudson Perez
I have a 981 Cayman S pdk. If you can swing it, it’s a lot of fun. Don’t buy it expecting resale or low cost of maintenance. Cheers!
Henry Martinez
>150k for an Apartment >50k for a Cayman
in what country are these things so cheap?
Christian Wilson
>not just getting a lexus >same level of luxury as a porsche for 1/3 the price
I would never buy a lease car that is 1 to 2 years old. Owners floor them on an cold engine and do all the reving with high rpm - basically drive them like they stole it because mecanical problems appear later 50-75k miles+
Lincoln Bennett
Porsches do not have a high resale value. Like someone else said, your be better off with a nice Lexus. Much cheaper maintanence too.
Adrian Bailey
E90 master race, cost me 3k, looks good, will last forever if I look after it.
Why anybody would spend more than 5-10k on a car just to look good or keep up with the Jones is beyond me.
Exotic cars are t meant to be driven on a road daily, they are designed for the track, what even is the point of buying a Ferrari or a lambo if you do t take it to a track to use it how it’s intended, sure it’s nice to look good in one, but it’s for the track or the odd weekend day out on the country roads
Nolan Miller
Cayman is a proper sports car, have you test driven it? You'll sit ass to the ground so snowy winter no fun
Porsches have very high resale value. Maintenance can be costly
At least Porsche is a 2 year service interval rather than annual
Brayden Campbell
Just lease it if you're going to get rid of it. That way you don't take on any ownership costs and you can switch it out for something new, which is what anyone would love to do every 2 years.
Parker Kelly
s2k great, no porshe tho. honestly fuck it bro don't listen to these pussies
Carter Green
fuck these pajeet cars.
Cameron Bell
luxury isn't the only factor, a porshe is a porshe
Juan Johnson
And a lexus is a lexus. I'd say they're on the same level as far as "brand". Both are luxury, Porsche isn't some god-tier supercar like Lamborghini.
Brody Jones
also if your just wanting this to have a cool new car not because you really like they way porsche drive, consider SUVs and Trucks great vaule, great quality, will hold value(though your use of the term 'flat' makes me question that you live in a place suitable for suvs)
Jeremiah Sullivan
That's hot.
Joshua Butler
porshe and lexus are not on the same tier, they make very different cars, they are definately dope and if op just wants a cool new car then lexus should be considered, but if he is really fixed on the P O R S C H E E X P E R I E N C E then a lexus just cant compare
Hudson James
>god-tier supercar >lambo what did he mean by this
also what kind of fucking freaky faggot doesn't get a boxster over a cayman
Jack Sanders
50k for a porsche must be a shit tier porache. I dont look at car prices for models I would never buy.
If it makes you happy buy a porache, but I wouls be really happy with a toyota avalon ot even a honda civic. (Valet here, I've driven it all, porsches arent that cool).
Anyways, have fun needing to get a shit job like me when you blow through your stack on useless shit like luxury cars.
Andrew Smith
Boxster looks weird. Cayman is basically a poor man's 911.
Anthony Campbell
Or you can reinvest with me an make a cool million before the end of the year
Carter Ortiz
you got it twisted senpai
Jacob Gray
He'd still have 300k$ to secure some sort of income to support his car and lifestyle. That is enough.
Anthony Howard
german cars, and high-performance vehicles in general have somewhat expensive maintenance costs and insurance, think twice before buying a nice car just because you can pay cash. No point in buying something like that if you have no steady income or something
Samuel Howard
>spends all of money and doesn’t have any left over from taxes
Be careful not to be that guy, OP. Pay your taxes, then spend like an idiot. IMO, you don’t need a goddamn 50k car. Reinvest in land, agricultural engineering, or machine learning.
Aaron Torres
>23 year old >I don't have anything other to look forward in life Oh man.
You never know what's gonna happen in the next 10, 20 years. If I were you, I'd buy a second hand Toyota because they're really long lasting and their value don't depreciate that much.
If you really want to show off, just buy a second hand Mercedes Benz E-Class.
>chashing out at 500k >not even reinvesting in other assets >spending it on stupid shit like a porsche gayman
some people are just destined to never make it

jap shit weeb nerd
no one will mire and the engine will explode when the spotty teenager who fits your turbo doesn't do it right
Julian Flores
jfc you anons will never make it. spend 5-10K on a used accord in good shape. live like a poorfag until you're worth at least 3M. the 40K you save could easily be worth half a mil in a couple years if you pick strong crypto projects.
>t. worth 650K and don't even own a car because i can get anywhere easily in my town. i want to be rich as fuck not spend 1/7th of my net worth on a toy i'll get bored of in 6 months
Juan Torres
The accord is such a shitty ride that I unironically get carsick whenever I ride in one.
It's like riding in a goddamn tin can
Aiden Scott
He said he cashed out 500k, not cashed out at 500k. Learn to read.
Josiah Jackson
350k invested with a safe return of 5% is 17.5k before tax. Someone who makes 17.5k a year can't afford a Porsche. If you have a real job making 50k plus then buy your toy.
Joshua Foster
>buying cars for how fast they are and not for how many compliments you'll get
Jose Wood
can be anything cheap and reliable. the point is to not buy a fucking porsche if you're only worth 350K and live in a 150K shithole. that's retarded
Christopher Allen
cayman is for faggots, literally either get a 911 and look respectable or get a cayenne or a panamera and look like a drug dealer
Cooper Brown
Fuck, this hurts so much.
The Cayman GT4 was supposed to be my reward with REQ, I had 250K USD worth of it on Jan 1st.
holy fuck this. I get the appeal but if I had the money 911 all the way. Or wait for a mid engine 2 seater 911.
Connor Gonzalez
dont buy a cayman, its a Porsche for women, literally go for a older 911 instead, thank me later you can get one from €50k up in a good state in Germany
>European car >lasts forever Honestly depends on the Euro car, but generally with a 6 cylinder BMW this is a sound statement.
Isaac Cook
1000x this
Brandon Fisher
You need to read some reliability statistics. Try JD Power or Consumer Reports or whatever floats your boat. Every single European make is near the bottom. Here's an editorial to whet your appetite but look around for the more scientific shit. European """reliability""" is a marketing fraud: jalopnik.com/bmw-engines-are-gigantic-pieces-of-shit-1784684330
this user knows whats up. s2k will not depreciate in value as long as you don't rice it. keep it clean maybe some nice wheels and coilovers. I bought mine for 11k and i could get 13k for it right now.
