Australian military accepts very few recruits, it's really small. They'll reject you really easily due to this and if you do manage to get in, you'll likely be on a waiting list for a long time. Possibly permanently if every other person on the list is superior.

Yeah, when I did it I was gonna do rifleman or some other combat roles. I got very high on the aptitude test though, so in the interview thing on the same day the older guy observing it kept saying I shouldn't do those roles. Not sure if they want those who do well in more intellectually-changing roles or if they don't want those who do well in the more 'grunt' roles. I eventually switched them for others too.

It's true, it was all said in my interview. I went with it. I knew i failed when they said it, obviously and after that i stopped giving a fuck and threw in dark humor.

I did what they wanted, and smashed the exams, yet got rejected because i supposedly lack empathy even though i cried for days when my dog died, and many other things.

I was doing it too, progressing fine but they kept fucking up my paperwork and shit. Had to keep redoing, confirming, and posting them my shit. I also realised that the military is dodgy as fuck, and that I probably wouldn't get in anyway (at least not in the near-future) so I dropped the process.

lol I was conscripted in 2007. I remember the screening process before I could go in. The aptitude test only tested your logical thinking, there was no interview or similar screening process that would root out potential psychopaths. I see some australian and canadian anons despair because it's hard to join, here I just got a letter in the mail which said it was time to serve the King.

I was failed on the psych test for army when i left High school in 2013, 4 years later after finishing my degree im working in Corrective Services, passed 2 psych tests to get in.

Army psychs are bullshit, psych in general is bullshit, the quality of candidates is pretty low there.

Kind of wish it was like that here but it's just not how the military is arranged. Even if they suddenly implemented conscription it would basically just be a money sink because the set up doesn't accommodate them. Conscripts would basically be useless and would be no where near even the basic standards. It'd have to be heavily watered-down if you actually wanted to make use of them. If you wanted to keep it as it is, with conscripts separate, then it'd be like a segregated military camp daycare for young men, serving no real purpose militarily. Maybe we should still do it for nationalistic purposes, however.

Funny, my knees point outwards, but i do Olympic lifting and regularly squat 165kg with no pain. I am considered unfit, while people in combat corps struggle and cry about a 50kg backpack.
